No Swiss Alpine Passes?!?!?!
Choice!!!!!!!!
Hey I've got 3 spare batteries. Problem is they're all fooked!! I definitely do need to spend a lot more time riding though. Even though my times are steadily improving my riding is getting worse. Froggy, I actually had a lot of fun on the Saturday, just riding my bike and feeling better and better through out the day. Although gearing is (and always has been) a big issue with this bike. Everyone was pulling an easy 50m ahead of me out of the bottom sweeper onto the main straight. So I guess I'm going to have to spend a lot of time swapping sprockets and trying out different combinations to get to the point where I'm not being disadvantaged in certain corners at each track.

Cars are for those who can't stay upright!! Cheeky prick. As per last round, I would have nagged you about the battery the day or two prior. **cough** I seem to recall mentioning having a spare battery would be a good idea **cough** Total loss is a 1st class PITA...dunno why club racers bother with it. Least you got some starting practise in. You wont get a feel for that bike if you spend ten hours fiddling and changing settings for every 10 minutes riding it. Tyre changing.....c'mon...I'm trying.
Thats a serious tale of woe mate! Catch you next weekend at Paeroa

great read dude, its all a learning curve and lol good on megan for not running away with the keys & car lol
Stink.... i like the idea of fixing every thing with a lap top tho! maybe you can create a program that will change the tires for Stevie
Excellent read, and a great ride.
As long as the route is saved into Betty, you can call it up again. She may prompt if you want to be navigated to the start, and make sure you say no. She should then pick up your current location, direction of travel, and continue navigating from where you are, and then forward. You also have recently found items, that if found on the GPS, can quickly be recalled instead of typing it again. Glad this ride worked out a bit better aye?
Good ride report, been a while since I rode around the East Cape!
Typical of you always being late to your own ride! I think this bike is the zenith of your riding career - there is no other bike out there now that you can skip across to! Glad to hear you are loving your new ride, but sheesh, getting a bit soft in your old age? 1000km? Well lets hope one day you get to see the cape in the daylight!
The 2nd puncture has a bubble around the patch because the layers in the tyre have delaminated. A plug might work but the tyre would soon wear in that area and it's not worth the risk, $'s or bother....especially when I am planning to do Gold on the upcoming TT. There were no items deposited in the tyre on either puncture and I actually think I scored a dud from MR Avon...but there's no way to prove or disprove that so I'll just wear it and move on.
Good you got out........bugger about the tyre.....best laid plans and all....
ouch... thats an expensive tyre for $/km. Re the u-turn, it probably calculated the next option was too far, so preferred for you to do a u-turn. I've turned off u-turns, but it beats me by telling me to do a circle around a couple of side streets instead. Coming home from Cape Reinga in the early hours of this morning, the GPS wanted me to go via Waipoua Forest again, at almost an hour longer, than shooting straight down SH1. It obviously likes the back roads (well trained huh) but sometimes you can't explain why it chooses some of the routes. Couple your knowledge with its, and then its a great combination.

whats the issue with removing the tank???
surely the tyre can be "patched" properly on the inside as car tyres are fixed?.The dog turds are only supposed to be temporary repairs until a proper patch/plug can be put on the inside as i am sure you know
