Excellent way to finish off a ride, by more riding! It would make me feel jealous, but fortunately I have done those roads as well ... just not recently

Keep up the good writing and we'll make an author of you yet!

Respect to my man Gremlin, he's doing the hard yards - even doing some times and distances I would need training for myself!

As for Katie leaving more bits over NZ ... I'm not really surprised at this stage, one day I swear your whole back end will drop off and you won't notice it until you get to your next fuel stop or notice the reserve light coming on faster than expected!

Nice write ups, you've come a long way from the 3 - 5 words you used to post!

Tsk tsk, the usual malarkey and shennanigans on a gremlin accompanied foray. Glad you kept it all rubber side down on that gravel patch - all that practice you been doing has its benefits!

Yeup, rather jealous reading this in hindsight - I was down in Wellywood via cage with my better half. Though I daresay I probably could have swung riding with her with you guys if we stayed overnight in Russell or something like that!

The usual hogwash and hornswiggle from the loon gremlin. Good to see you doing what you do best - scaring the local inhabitants with your unique brand of motorbiking.

Tch, typical - sorry you had to endure my nemesis Gremlin, he doesn't bite much and he has good intentions (his bedside manner could do with some work though).

Hope you find some ridding buddies soon!

Just a tip, you may not want to put your number on the open air... people don't even have to log in to see the details...

Where to ride in Wellington? not the foggiest

I went right past... lots of neat scenery, but which view did you have in mind? North, South, at Ohingaiti proper or somewhere else?

This blog and all the posts in it make for interesting reading, thanks p.dath. I'm curious about practice sessions though - how do you work that safely without leaving bits of bike all over your chosen practice area?

added a couple of panoramic shots as well... playing with my new camera

Hey Hawkeye, good to meet ya then. Yep, definitely ride at your own pace. You can't finish long rides in half an hour, but you can sure end your day within half an hour...

Yeah KoroJ, 35 odd hours, and I was still keen to play through Piecock Hill, so its a reasonably good sign.

I've attached some of the basic shots from the day, for part 2 I'll upload some of the panoramic shots I took on SH54.

Hi Gremlin. Good to meet you at the weekend.
I was the bike behind you on the first leg. There as no way I could have kept up with the pace you and XP@ were putting in especially among all of that debree on the road. I almost lost the back end 2-3 times so decided it would be wise to back off a little.
I have however given xp@ crap for not finishing. What kind of excuse is a frayed clutch cable.
Good to hear you got back to Aucks in one piece and didn't fall asleep.

See you again next year eh!

Damn...I didn't realise that was a 35'ish hour stint. That was a good TT practice then!

Had a great day, enjoyed the new roads and you're right one shouldn't take it for granted that a place name is actually a town. Bayview to Wairoa and return was the highlight for me. Looking forward to next year's event, job well done John.

Definitely enjoyed the route. The roads around Patangata I hadn't done before, and Middle Rd especially was awesome.

Now to see if I do this all over again next year...
