Oh yeah... if the vest feels too hot... it probably is. That controller to adjust heat really shouldn't be optional. I'm guessing the vest was maintaining temperature, but because the front kept getting cooled by wind, it kept up the heat... except the rear was protected by me... so it got hot... really hot. Going to need more than one layer under the vest for the GC, as the controller will only arrive afterwards.
Well, good to see that you got to test a lot of the factors you wanted to. Equipment and yourself namely! I think it would be wise thing indeed to keep upping that training factor once the GC is done. Thanks for the update on the East Cape road conditions, sounds like it has got worse since last I rode it oh so long ago! No mention of the blisters left by the heat vest hmmm?
Also check that the rubber mounts for the tank are in place as they can allow the tank to sit lower than it should if they are missing. Electrical sounds a stretch to me as you are able to get down the road aways before it ceases so I would go for a restriction somewhere or a pinch in the lines or cables. Try with the tank sitting up on a sponge and bungeed into place. Cheers
Lucky coin? What lucky coin? It was a totally fair throw up in the air toss of a coin. OK so it had heads on both sides but it was still a fair throw!

If you dont have enough airflow through your carb, it does not create enough of a vacuum in the venturi to suck sufficent fuel out of the carb. So either there is not enough airflow (the airflow is blocked), or the fuel conduit (or jet) is blocked, and therefore requires increased vaccum and airflow to overcome the increased friction in the conduit. Have you cleaned the idle jets/conduit to the jets? We have tried and check just about everything besides the cdi we have removed the air box and replaced it with individual filters but as soon as you put a load on the bike the problem comes back my mechanic says it must be an electrical fault and i nw need to source a gj73a cdi

I had a similar maddening problem with my VFR, eventually traced to a fuel line which kinked but only when the tank was bolted down, not when it was put in place.... hilarious.... not. so check your fuel tap, fuel line, and also next time it does it, undo the petrol cap: if it suddenly picks up, the vent in the cap is blocked, meaning petrol gets sucked out of the gas tank, but air can't get in to replace that, creating a partial vacuum which stops fuel flow eventually. Also hilarious. do stuff like take the fuel tank off, run it with an independent tank, check vacuum lines (does your petrol tap have a diaphram that stops fuel flow? you might have to run it in PRIME position). have fun, theres nothing more hilarious than an intermittent fault.
better a coin or key toss rather than a group toss

I was just commenting to GiJoe earlier that NZ isn't that big, and you have quickly ridden all the roads, so a coin toss is certainly a good idea. Last time we couldn't decide, we used a key toss, to determine the direction.

The only down side to this was that you didn't have optimum training conditions ... should have been pissing down with rain!

Heh my bro rode out on the CB1000R ... seems like he still remembers how to ride, considering how he was giving it the berries from what I heard!
Plenty of bikes available to get your bro riding again!
In the background of your first photo your neighbour is doing the same thing with his boats.
Agree totally with you Guy. The biggest problem with 'top-down' funding is that it can be a case of BigBrotherKnowsBest. and this is not always the case. The biggest plus the ACC ML committee has going for it is that all but 1 of the members are actual bums-on-seats riders. BRONZ Wellington has achieved a lot in the short time we have been active. Liasing between various interest groups and getting some sensible training options going. We are on the web, just google us to find out what we are up to. In the meantime, if each of us who has the heart to do so actually pulls finger and acts, then between us we can and will achieve awesome stuff. Look forward to seeing you when you can get to the Tuesday rides.
I did my Cape ride today ... and oh yeah, I got more riding planned as well. I'm doing more training than you!
Wednesday Evening 29 September 2010 Last night I attended the first Tuesday Evening 2010/2011 ride here in Wellington posted on this site under the banner recognition of BRONZ and co-ordinated by a committee member, Ratti.
