Riding a GSF650 is about as Gay as you can get.
Love that feeling of desert mouth after surgery, same here after 8hours wanted to drink a bloody 200gallon trough full, but only small sips for first couple of hours in ICU.Then the nausia kicks in,anti- nausia medicine seemed to make it bearable, but after feeling like shite for 12 hours,it had to happen, but nurses were excellent, and funnily enough the male nurses were great.
hey the bulbs for my bike are rated 35w, am i able to use 55w bulbs? is it legal? i'm thinking about buying a pair of philips bluevisioun bulbs to replace my hid lights (attempting to be legal).
makes for a good read
Good to read your safely through the op and starting the process of recovery. Those nightmares are fairly real at the time, wait until you have the one that "you GIVE away your bike/s and take up scrap-booking at night-school!!" LoL My father in law went in for a hip op and came out with no limp and a quadruple bypass, anyway it took longer to stop hugging a pillow when he coughed than get over the dreams and effects of those drugs.
This wont hurt a bit! OH boy, I know that one well.
Good on ya. I will be moving to Auckland in August, and will be looking for some good riding roads. stay safe
Good that you have a sense of humour about it all, and that you remember what they told you about the op. Remember, no pain no gain (Tui), keep taking the painkillers and hugging your new best friend
Welcome home. I am sure your recovery will be much quicker now you are at home. PM me your addy, I am heading to the smoke tomorrow for a job interview, I can drop some magazines into your letter box on my way back if you would like.
I am very glad to read he is on the mend, I hope he gets home today you always feel much better at home.
Duc's Gt the MANA!
Wicked snow. A bit calmer than when Transalper and I went up
nah nothing major, just adjusted the valve clearances. rear exhaust was a tad tight so put her back in spec but now noticed a decline in top end power...not sure what's going on there. Runs fine though, but just runs out of puff past about 140 where it used to pull to 170.
What have you done to the engine?have you just had it overhauled?

I think a few of us were starting to get worried after the blog had gone quiet for so long ...

Awesome write up, takes me right back to my my travels though Europe. Looking forward to reading more
I have found that my local garages will ask you to remove helmet before they will serve you. Must be the dodgy area. So I now always remove helmet, really annoys cars waiting for the pump as you fluff around getting helmet & glove back on but wtf. by the way never forget to zero speedo if you have no fuel gauge. Develop a routine & never vary it.
The best way to get a $400.00 bitzer to beat and flash outfit is for Gareth to lay off the pies!!
