You can check the regulator with a voltmeter (it should be under about 14v I think) but that is probably not the problem. It is more likely from what you have said, that the spark plug is fouling. Look at the plug. If it is all black and sooty looking, it is running too rich. If it is idling too rich, just adjust the idle mixture screw (not the idle speed setting but the low speed mixture setting). You might simply try turning it in (clockwise) 1/2 turn. Yesterday I had the best day riding at Kaitoke, running a second and first in the points races.

I ran a rear slick for the first time, which what I needed to step it up. My gear changer is knackered and I could have run the rear tyre with little more pressure or it's not going to last. I am now really looking forward to seeing what the new engine's performance will be like.

It was also great to see Wanisami (my RG50 bucket) out again. I'm about to swap out it's engine ...

I’m not sure what came first, the ride-plan or the excuses for the ride, but Steve & I arranged a ride for today that would fulfill several requirements. We needed a pre-GC ride that would include a bit of night riding, we needed to check a couple of sections of the Capital Cruise to be run in November and we wanted to revisit the outstanding road that runs around the Kawhia Harbour from Piopio to Te Kawa. This road was a section of last years Grand Challenge and I remembered having a blast on it ...

So, no beer for three weeks and the training going well. Survived a night out on the piss last night being the designated driver and watching all around fall down drunk and talk bollocks.....brilliant entertainment.

More to come no doubt and I was more than happy to scoff the left over feed up cos all the others were crook with booze this morning.

Finally got my jacket sorted.
had to send the first one back, it was waaaay too big. Size M in the Teknic jackets, size XS in 1Tonne jackets I guess it pays to read the size chart when ordering huh?

overall quite happy with the jacket, it's not perfect, but for the price I paid I'm not bitching.

Sat my BHST with Easy Rider Motorcycle Training, I did the slalom first go, perfect. the stopping in the square and the slow ride gave me some trouble.
