I thought it was time to introduce my great-nephew Jake to the Easter Mouse! You know, …….the one that follows the Easter Bunny everywhere and if you don’t woof your Easter Egg down quickly, the Easter Mouse will get at it. In this instance a Triple egg was obtained for Eleni and an egg filled with pineapple lumps for Jake. A message was sent to their mum to ensure my efforts would not be in vain and collection was due this morning………UNFORTUNATELY…………I believe the Easter Mouse knew ...
I decided that now the feeling has returned to my ass that I would sit down and write about my journey to becoming a biker. I borrowed a mountain bike from a friend, my thinking that was since I haven't been on two wheels for about 6 years it might be a good idea to reaquaint myself with a saddle. So anyway this morning I jumped on the bike and thankfully the sun was out and I have a quiet housing estate on my doorstep, thank goodness I did. Talk about shaky!! I honestly thought ...
We woke up in the morning slowly and got ready for our boat ride trip up to the city of Fierze. The sun is shining and the morning starts out slow, with people trickling in for the ferry, some even coming by boat. We wait about an hour as more and more people come to the port. Soon the entire tunnel is completely full of cars. And in the distance is the ferry approaching. ...
7 April 2009 The past two days have been filled with crazy bureocracy, German punctuality, a second league soccer game and losing my keys! Let us start with yesterday, to keep things in a nice chronological order. (I can only try this chronological thing and see how long it lasts, hope some of the German orderliness rubs off on me soon!) So, Monday morning… Gabi accompanied me into the city to do all those setting up tasks that one must do before enrolling at uni, namely ...
It has been ten days since my last…. several things actually. Today I head home to Bishkek from site. We depart site at midday for the 5 to 6 drive that is anything but pleasant. There will be 4 of us in the car today, Dave, an Aussie from WA, Mal, another Aussie, from Melbourne, Sean from….oh shit! I am outnumbered 3;1… I am in for another 5 hours of kiwi bashing...bugger! There is only so much I can take before it wears me down, let’s hear it one more time for the Kiwi rugby league ...
5 April 2009 Some things never change between countries and one of those things, it would appear, is wannabe gangstas. Yes, a lowered cars spewing out gangsta beats drove past yesterday, through this sleepy family neighbourhood. I only glimpsed it briefly, but I am pretty sure it had mags too (there is a mags shop on the main street). Actually, this weekend has had quite a lot to do with cars for me. Today we drove for 2 ˝ hours through the Schwarzwald to the Bodensee ...

4 April 2009 Wow, I have only been here one day and one night but I can tell you one thing, it certainly feels different to last time I was here. I guess he obvious thing is that there is no snow this time. Actually, it is way warmer than I thought it would be. Yesterday Clara showed me around the inner city and I wore just jeans and my KB T-Short, didn’t even need a jumper. This morning it’s a little chillier but a thin long sleeve top seems to be doing the trick. ...
