Anyone interested in giving BEARS race ago? The BEARS club in Canterbury has 2 Ducati 400 race bikes they hire out for only $100 per meeting. This covers all costs, fuel, entry, day license. The idea is to encourage new riders into the sport by letting them have a go first before purchasing their own bike. You must be a competent road rider or had some junior competition experience. For more details & photos see their site. www.bearsracingnz.com
Sunday I’d initially decided to have a reasonably early start around 0800 or something, but couldn’t be arsed getting out of bed so took my time, eventually slouching through to the main diner area for some breakfast of cereal and fruit. Having got the day off to the right start I left the Diner shortly after 1000, popped into Taupo for the day’s gas and got into the country around 1030, heading along SH5. First stop was a gravel dead end into the Kaimanawa Forest Park ...
Thursday My 4th trip since I started blogging, involving riding for work, she’s a hard life indeed. The usual drill that the boss was prepared to fly me down and that budget would be spent on riding down instead. Having a biker for a boss certainly makes it easy. This trip was to sort out the move of a client’s branch office and install some VOIP phones for future development work, so what also made this trip easier was the capacity of the luggage to take several IP ...

Thank god we have finally had success, we followed advice from the very helpful people on this site and fitted a manual fuel tap off a Suzuki TS185 and finally the bike runs great, a Faulty Vacuunm Fuel Tap was our problem, tha Hyosung Comet 250 runs better than ever, we have checked the connections on the CDI also and they looked fine. So the bike will not be sent to the knackers yard just yet. Runs too good for that. Thanks to all that offered advice.
Things are gathering momentum now and I'm getting more and more excited about this bike. After getting the bike back to the shed I'd hardly touched it. Lots of rain and plenty of cold weather had put me off getting out there, besides which I'd gotten really busy with a couple of other projects that I managed to get involved in. However, I had been thinking, planning and buying some bits that were going to be needed. Amongst other things I've got some ...
Well i have completed a few things and had no success and the bike still cuts out, i have fitted new spark plugs, new in line fuel filter, isolated the side stand switch, completed fuel cap vent mod, fitted new fuel vacuum pump, the carbs have been cleaned out, the only things left are the fuel vacuum tap abd the CDI unit. Any more suggestions, we are nearly ready to ditch it for a Honda or similar, any help much appreciated.
