Not familiar with Suzuki's, but the basics ... is the side stand up, and the bike in nuetral? And the kill switch off?

Oh, you can't get it into nuetral. Try sitting on the bike and rock it back and forth and see if you can change gear after that.

Does the clutch handle feel like its got tension (aka, clutch cable not broken or anything)?

+1 my zzr has a habbit of sticking in gear if you dont stop the engine in neautral, rocking it fixes it every time

Rock the bike back and forward - should be able to change gear then.
Find neutral (green light on dash), ensure killswitch (right hand, above the starter button) is in the middle 'setting'. press starter. If no go, then pull in clutch lever and try again.
Note: some bikes have a kill switch on the side stand, so the stand must be up...usually only if in gear tho. Also, some bikes will not start unless they are in neutral. Or with the clutch lever pulled in.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Make sure your stand is up before you put your bike into gear or your motor will stop, so if your bike has the stand down and you are in gear it will not start also.

Kill swtich on the right hand side..Red for emergency, and that is what it is used for...cheers
