"A few" would have emphasis on "few"
"Quite a few" implies considerably more than "few"

Maybe 12 or so in 23 years. There will be more. I don't know of all of them.

They were the stupid ones. The not so stupid made other arrangements.

To say they get away with it is ....
Human resources must be biting the force in the arse!...odds on some of the piss heads that got booted out for DIC would have been displaying questionable behaviour well before being rounded up. HR would undoubtedly dealt with them with kid gloves, the result being DIC, booted out and another scar against the coppers that are performing well.
One bad cop can do so much damage to the collective image.

    A cop?
    A cop?

That's faaaaarkin' funny. No, I'm not a cop, never have been, never will be, wouldn't ride with one (if I knew about said cop) and while I have drunk with a few in the past (coz one was a rellie but he perf'd out) all I ever saw was a bunch of reasons to a) never drink with them again and b) not ever trust one.

You're welcome to stay confused though.

    Cop....crackup.

Ah well, I guess we won't be seeing you at the Annual South Island Annual KB Gathering then??

Maybe in turn I should stay away too - after all some there could have a criminal record so I could equally say 'wouldn't ride with one (if I knew about said criminal) and while I've drunk with a few in the past (coz one was a rellie but he...oh, hang one, that won't work) all I saw was a bunch of reasons to a) never drink with one again and b) not ever trust one'

You are in the best position to judge that.

It's nothing like that at all, how do you figure that? Oh, hang on, you just don't get it some days but then it's probably down to your training.

I had no intention of going on kb gathering anyway. I make my own decisions and I'm happy with them, my life simply doesn't include cops these days unless they're out to extort money.

Well, in 2007/8 760,920 of New Zealanders joined the ranks of heinous criminals. Don't know the figure for 2008/9, but it's going to be higher. So you're in pretty good company.

Nowadays pretty much every NZ adult is deemed a criminal by the police. Which may account for why people are less likely to dob in the *real* criminals.

After all, since the cops regard my driving at 111kph as being on a par with the activities of Mr Asia, or Mr Weatherston , why should I bother to assist them in their actvitieis agaianst my fellow criminals ?

True. I've never been able to get my head around the fact that (alleged) speedsters get fined for popping 111kph on perfect roads on perfect days but carve someone up and you get three meals a day, tv, access to a library, can put yourself through Uni' and get your teeth fixed. (Amongst other things.)
