    What pictures do you want?

If we could bend your eye for a moment or two folks.
When you are looking online at bikes for sale what pictures do you want/need to see?
Yea a good clear picture of the whole bike in question goes without saying but from there what else?
    Limit is 10 pictures.

Picture of the whole thing, the exhaust system, the main gauges, any dents/large aesthetic problems.

That's about all I'd want, I wouldn't buy a bike without going and taking a look at it anyway.

I like to see the instrument panel, and anything about the bike which makes it different or distinctive.

You can basicly have up to 20 photos on Trademe I think so try to get every part of the bike you think is important on there.

Depends on the bike. But generally, a good side on from both sides, a front , a rear. One looking forward at the instruments (shows mileage). That's enough to gauge overall condition.

Then use the rest for something specific to the bike. Obviously, closeups of any damage, defects etc.

Classics, I like if possible to see a pic of the engine number and frame number. And anything unusual about the bike (anything that wouldn't be the same as checking out one of the same model in a dealers or bike park)

A lot of folk make the mistake of showing lots of photos of basically the same thing. One good side on of the near side is all that's needed, not six of the same thing from slightly different angles.

Take the side front and rear photos horizontally - ie squat down.

I guess there could be more, but then we may as well do away with the bike if it's covered
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

In general, don't get too "arty".

I've seen ads for bikes where all the pics are from weird angles that just don't let you see what the bike really looks like.

Be symmetrical. e.g. If there's a pic of the left side but not the right side, people will think there's something wrong with the right side.
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.

Good clear shots of BOTH sides of the bike. A shot of the instruments showing the odo is handy. Close ups of any notable damage. If there's anything special about the bike i.e. carbon fibre bling or whatever, then show shots of that stuff. I like to see what the tyres are like too, but you don't need close ups of those, as long as they can be seen in the other shots.
