    Cool Scenic Drive

Scenic Drive, have you been down it...... what do you think??

It's the best road that I have quick access to and I love it.

Especially during the night when I can have it all to myself.

It really makes me feel relaxed and calms any stress that life inflicts......

What are your thoughts on it??

And what are you're favourite roads. Number one favourites only

Mate - i'm happy that you like it, but really, scenic drive is the merest spec of a road in the scheme of things.

A blast through the Hunuas and down to the Bombays has 5 times as much interesting stuff, and that isn't even close to the same league as Queen Charlotte Sound out of Picton or over Takaka hill, - 2 that i experienced after i wrote this lot:

and Arthur's pass, Lewis pass and the SI west coast didn't even get a mention!

    I live and learn.

I agree that those roads are great.......But I live in Roskill and Scenic Drive is the closest thing I have to go to after work.

Besides I don't really know that many roads

Not for me; too busy, too many wet spots (snigger), too much green slime.

Back before the Drive became an urban street it was good.('70's)
But the developer bastards and the residents in their Suck U Vehicles have spoiled the fun.
After the Plague it will be good again!

Even the Bethells and Piha roads are sealed now. Alas, ichabod, ichabod.

The Anawhata road is still a good ride though.

It's pretty good but rather dangerous. I feel like playing russian rollet (sp), when I go down that way. Wondering if a car is going to come out of a driveway.

At the titirangi roundabout, hang a hard left (rather than a slight left) and shoot down Huia Road, I dont like doing all of it, but i like that section just down from the roadabout, smooth ashphalt and nice corners.

Try Westcoast road as well (just off Scenic Drive) thats a good'un...

But you will be better off heading south... Or shooting upto Oldnorth road...
See Robert Taylor for any Ohlins requirements www.northwest.co.nz

If you like interesting roads and gravel, keep going down Huia Rd, through Little Hiuia, across the stream, take the Whatipu Road. Nice ride.

Arrow Spent 3 weeks in the South Island.

Good road, great views and all I could think about was why am I not on my bike???
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
