No many of the normal car transport companies will take a dead car as they dont have a hoist , winch on the trucks so they cant get them on. They leave it to a flat bed or a hookie.

He knows whats hes doing, when you have built 2 motorkhana race cars from scratch, restored a vintage car and built a four wheel drive lamborghini countach replica powered by a twin turbo lexus v8...

    then you are getting close.

Temperamental gto huh? I would suggest checking the crank angle sensor and if your old man has a fully equipped workshop I would assume he has an oscilloscope to check the injector pule with. If all the fuses and plugs etc are fitting good then start testing the normal array of sensors, you say it's got pressure, it should have around 60psi fuel pressure. But I would think the crank/cam angle sensor may be giving you shit.
    Good luck

Go down in the corona. Tow the car as far as Pokeno. Fairly flat not hard towing. Then get a towie to haul it up and over the bombays to Otara turn off. Dump it at the servo there and then tow behind corona rest ofg the way. cheapest way to do the job.

If your old man is that clever and has that much experience to draw on, I am sure he can organise something as simple as getting a car home.

Or is he an attention seeker too? Come on skiddy - it's not really that hard to sort out - people do it every day without coming on here to live out their tragic failures ad nauesem..........

I had a twin turb gto for a while as well, and had no end of problems with it when it was driven hard. Which was in all fairness way too often.

ECU's are common to go, I had to get mine recond by a fella on the shore (based out of his shed). Can't remember who now, but found the web page on google. The ISC went next after that, if memory servers.

Get a voltmeter and google mitsi gto (or 3000GT/Stealth or whatever the american name was) error codes, the plug is easily accessable and will atleast let you know if its a sensor or the ecu etc. For some reason I seem to remember dettaching the ECS can fix some problems as well (don't ask why the suspencion cpu would stop the whole car..)

If your determined to tow the whale instead of fix it, goodluck..

Yeah actually, now that I think about it the ECUs in the mitsis of that age were a shocker. We were quoted $2k for an ECU replacement on a Diamante we had bought for about $4k. Had a Galant that we bought at auction and fixed up that we got told would be scrap if the ECU went... Thinking about it, when I was looking at a Legnum I got told the engines were prone to going to pieces all at once and the high-pressure fuel pumps were in the order of $1-2k if you could even get one? I can't think of a single other car manufacturer that I've had more than 1 shock like that from. Even when I thought the SRS controller was completely gone in my accord it was $500 for a wrecked one, $650 for a new one.

ECU was fried, a computer who used to build race GTO's has it...they sent computer away for repair... they got it running but it was spluttering etc... then they have sucked one of the gaskets through the motor they think because they had some intake pipes off when they test drove it....

    fucking bunnies

    hopefully sorted soon.

I got a Mitsubishi. never had any problem at all with the ECU, or any electronics. Guarantee I never will, no matter how long.
