Nearly six years and 180,000km. I wish I'd started younger.

    I haven't been able to ride for 6 months 12 days & 4 hours.

Does that mean when I can ride again I will be a B.A.B?

    20 years road riding.

Do about 13,000+ a year commuting and a few long rides when I can.

The wife and I just completed a 10,100km ride in Oz (and need another ).

Sheesh, that's a tuff one. Been on & off for 30 years, more off than on. On as a kid with dirt/farm bikes etc then off for years. Back on commuting in Auckland for a few years then off till nearly 3 years ago, this time round road riding proper bikes, roughly 40,000km's in the last 3 years
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

32 years on bikes for me.

Nearly 40 years for me.I had my first bike for 6 months - and ever since I've never had just one bike.Sometimes I had bikes only and they were used everyday, sometimes I only had off road bikes, sometimes my bikes were not going - but there has always been bikes to ride or work on non stop for 40 years.

I got my first bike so I could get to work at 16 - I would have preferred a MkI Zephyr, but Mum said I had to have a motorcycle. Thanks Mum......

Rode my first motorcycle at 12, back in 1979.

Owned motorcycles from 1982 until 1992, then met my ex.

Gave up bikes for love *sigh* in 1992.

Split up in 2001. Got back into bikes in 2003.

So that's 15 years of nearly daily riding, and 30 years since I rode my first one.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
