Have just read all 13 pages...
Anyhow,if I was to post after the OP's thread starter,I might have ticked 'Yes'....
But thinking about it now,nah.
I own a TLR and an old ratty TS250ER,a 81 chunk o shit which I brought for $350 warrented and had 4 months reg left!
Well the TLR hasn't been outta the garage for almost a month now,but that TS is a heap of fun!
I earn a decent wage and my TLR was brought with 'Buy Now' on Trademe.
I'm not rich, not at all,but I do admire those who ride "spendy" bikes with all the Arai,Dainese blah blah stuff.
I enjoy riding my old trail bike,it's not fast,it's not flash but it's fun!
That's what biking's about ain't it?
just turned 23, brought my gixxer last year 2nd hand but brand spanking condition less than a year old with pretty much no kms, Paid straight up cash.
Its all about managing your money, Spending it in the right places and making the right decisions.
Brought 3 bikes in last year a ninja 250, drz400sm all new.
Hell I could easy buy another one now but house comes first
Not at all. In fact I'm quite proud of the fact I haven't required to bleed anybody to get to where I am.
What does irk me is when I worked two jobs as a student and had other arsehole students telling me how badly I managed my money. They'd conveniently ignore the fact that they get bailed out whenever they were skint, food made for them, clothes & vehicles bought for them, their washing done for them, their vehicles magically had their tanks refilled and they paid a token amount (or no) of rent.
Then when they hit the real world mummy and daddy normally helped them with the deposit on their first house too.

Yeah there's no shortage of phonies/wankers/posers around these days, specially in places like Auckland and it's like. Always heaps of crawling, slithering ladder-climbers come out into view in any CBD at 12.00pm, it's the snivelly latte set, they actually drive Beemers and Porches as a status symbol. "Look at me, I'm very special" Unpleasant, snooty and hostile usually, you'll see them sitting around yuppie/poser cafe tables on their soft, fat arses with smug, superior attitudes, occasionally uttering the classic phony latte laugh - "yeeess, we know, a-he he he he he... " a-he he he he he " just to prove that they all are indeed elite important people, and far far removed from the common plebs on the footpath... Reminds me of those creeping sycophants on the Trump tv program..
Some people just have tiny dicks and feel the need to validate themselves in other way.
I have a good IT job, but I ride a 1982 BMW.
