Pub accommodation on the West Coast (SI)?

Mrs Oakie and I are going on tour for 6 days in November and we plan on spending three nights on the West Coast between Haast and Westport. We'd like to stay in country pubs just because it's a good chance to meet the locals and of course eat and drink without having to find our way back to our accommodation. Can anyone point us in the direction of such suitable lodgings ... even better if they are biker friendly?

There's good cabin accommodation in Whataroa pretty much across the road from the pub. Outside bathroom toilet facilities but clean and tidy with off-road parking available right outside your bedroom window.

Typical West Coast pub there does on of those 'hot rock/cook it yourself' things which is interesting.

Yep. We had a beer and a yarn there on the last trip. It would have to be a possibility for an over-nighter.

    Was earlier this year.

And the Holy Place is still there. Still with the pictures on the walls. An' the flag.

Best beer in the world there too.

Thursday night is ladies pool night at Ikamatua. The locals are friendly and well fed.

I stayed at the Beachfront in Hokitika this year. There are rooms behind the pub and a hotel bit. The pub rooms are cheaper and thay are pretty relaxed about bikes.

Not a traditional pub but it is centrally placed for the er attractions in town.

    Good non-pub accommodation in Okarito

It may not fit your criteria, but...
In February we stayed in a bach in Okarito that the local kayak tour operators rent out. It was really nice, and the bach is on poles, so there is enough space underneath for under cover bike parking.
The road to hell is paved...

Great accomodation in Haast. Camping cabin set up which was very reasonab . Stayed there on the way over to Woodstock. $20.00 each for the night cabin. Highly recommended. Just down the road from the pub.

A good pub in Hokitika is Stumpers, a popular spot for overnighting bikers. Cheap clean rooms, good beer and eats available. Parking around the back, secure enough, you'll often see groups of 10 or more bikes there. They get my $$ everytime.
