Where is it Ok to speed?

well according to the policeman I just spoke to 70k was too fast coming off a 100k zone into feilding.

I know he wasnt picking on me cause there was also 3 other cars picked up within 100m while we were chatting.

Guess the donut shop is closed at midnight then.

I was in all honesty a little scared to wave... not only because it was my first time riding the bike, but because I was afraid of the possibility of being rejected by the cows on the side of the road. Cows can't wave back, and that put me in a awkard position, the consequences of which I wasn't prepared to risk, alot like waving to HD riders. It's a toughy man, it really is.

They should enforce the speed limit on race tracks too. Then you'd really know who the best rider is.

There is no speed restrictions on a race track (apart from in the pits). The fastest rider wins. So speeding consideration does not fit in here.

A note to the ones who are very saefty consious and do not tolerate speeding anywhere for any reason: This thread is in no way promoting speeding. Nowhere am I condoning it or telling riders to speed. I am merely asking what the opinion is re riding faster than the speed limit.

Big problem here is are you talking exceeding the speed limit, or speed inappropriate to the conditions? You need to define the word "speed".

I never ride at a speed inappropriate to the conditions.

I don't exceed the speed limit in 50km/hr areas. It's a sensible limit there.

I may at times exceed the speed limit in an open road or motorway area. It's a calculated risk based on MY assessment of the speed appropriate to the conditions.

But if I get pinged for it I'll take it on the chin.

They already do, its called Homologation ! And it does show who the best riders are lol

I ride a Harley and wave to everyone but it seems srange to me that normally the only ones who acknowledge me are other Harley riders....does that me that riders of Jappas etc are stuck up....don't think so...alot of people just don't wave..its as simple as that and it don't matter what you ride

Are you saying if you don't ride a Harley you ride a Jappa? I find that a bit offensive old bean.
