Excellent customer service at Mt Eden Motorcycles

Well, the title says it all, really, and they deserve a wee heads-up here, I reckon.

I spent $495 on the Zeal there yesterday getting a service and the Oxford heated grips fitted. The guys in sales up front were really great while I was poking around looking for a tankbag and grips last week, very helpful and relaxed. They always remember who I am when I call up to check whether the bike's ready. I reckon Mt Eden is still the best bike shop in Auckland to go into if you don't like pushy salesmen.

Ah, now, and the service... I don't know what those guys in the workshop did, exactly, but the Zeal's engine and transmission now feels like a hot titanium knife cutting through fresh butter. Gorgeous. It's been totally rejuvenated. My opinion of it as the Best Two Fiddy Ever has been well reinforced.

Auckland KBers, if you've ever had even the *slightest* doubt about the worth of the spannering you're having done at your usual shop, get your next service at Mt Eden.

    Also, heated grips... mmmm...

Yeah, the guys there are fantastic.

    They fitted my Micron pipe.

Mike was also really helpful with a mate of mine that was after some air filters for an MG Midget he was restoring (motorcyle one's were the only aftermarket one's that would fit). He spent ages helping him work out which one's would be the best - AND IT WASN'T EVEN A BIKE!!!!

Top place - fully recommend it.

yeah, they are good blokes. Only one guy there who winds me up with his stream of BS that manages to come out, but the rest of the guys are top dudes. Helped me out since I've been biking, and bought the 636 from them. Mike has also given us some freebies to give away as prizes at Quasi's rally!!

Better throw in a positive feedback to counteract Two Smoker's negative one, then.

I've only ever bought one thing from them (R/R), but Mike's actually helped me out a fair bit, and put service ahead of making a buck (unlike some other dealers...). He helped me out with finding some parts for the FahrtSturm, even though I bought them elsewhere.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Not had much to do with them. But what there was was good. They seemed pretty helpful

They're bastards alright - always there with ''hi,how are you going?,anything we can help you with?'' They don't respect me at all and don't seem to get that I'm a grumpy prick who doesn't want to talk to anyone.

I'm always after something that doesn't exist, and Mike and Chris are endlessly happy to waste valuable time flicking through sprocket cateloges trying to match up something I made up out of my head.Chris is an ex auto trans guy,I've rung him up and talked auto trans problems too,he was happy to give his input and I was pleased to have it.

The oldest phone number in my memory banks is 303 1960,for 30 years I have never had to look it up.

Amen to that! As a newbie first buying a bike they were always ready to have a chat about any bike, even though they knew I didn't have much money to spend at the time.
I pay that back with shopping there as much as possible, (except when I'm in a hurry!!lol) and giving them good rep because they deserve it!!!

It was an unbelievably contrast to the way I was treated by some bike shops

But we've only had 7 digit phone numbers for the last 15 years :P

Must've been 331 960 back in the day then?

Telecom started phasing in its new area code and seven-digit phone number system from about the late 1970s and completed this in about the mid-1980s. Prior to that some Auckland and Wellington numbers had seven digits. Even as late as 1981 there were still to be had such classic phone numbers as Kaukapakapa 22U.

Completed in the mid 80's? I still distinctly remember my Landscape Rd, Mt Eden number was (09) 636 XXX at the start of 1991. It was later that year a 0 was inserted to make it 630 6XXX. Couldn't have been before '91, as I was living in Melbourne. Happened before '92, as I had moved again by then.
