As others have said, behemoth!! I saw a police bike up close as a kid (no, it lived in my neighbourhood, just in case you were getting ideas) and it never looked that big.

If the bikes are supposed to be quicker through traffic then why is it half the size of a large car??

blimey, that is a big bike. In the nature of KB would one of you wild ones do a side by side comparison test of your bike vs behemoth in traffic?? that would decide it, and I know that you want to...

tiz pretty huge BC.. so lane splitting it out of the question on that then? You'll take everyone's wingmirrors off! Plus, only ~200ks? breaking in? so you can't thrash it yet..?? I guess the station will pay for the rebuild if needs be
Got a shot from the back?

    Nice bike dude anyways

You coppies on bikies, do you nod back to other bikers who nod? I've nodded at cops on bikes, and some do, some don't..

It's not really that big. Just looks it because the RT fairing is higher than sportsbike fairings, and encloses the handlebars completely. Also they sort of go around the rider rather than the rider tucking into them. But once you get used to haing all that plastic upo front they (BMW RT generally I mean) don't seem so big.

Does it have the neat electric windscreen. I reckon those are marvelous.

The attached pic of the rear of the bike is the one I did my course on in Wellington... is missing the left panier but you get the idea.

I will nod if someone nods to me and if I have time, although often I am watching a hundred things at once (or at least seems like it... )

Up to 230 kms now! Haven't blown it up yet...

Bugger - when I did my course in November I was told there were no bikes in Chch but obviously they wanted to see how a bike would go in Chch. Sounds like you got caught in the trial.

    hey bykey cop

just a random question, but would, if asked, a police bike visit a school to show the kids??

nothing definite yet, but I know my mum is planning a transportation term next term, and it will be covering sea, air, land. Nothing planned, but shes busy trying to figure out what sort of vehicles would be able to come. The school is in Papatoetoe East.

Just thought a police bike would be very different and special for the kids...

If everything goes ahead, I'll also be asking if any KBers in auck would be able to show off your ride a bit (as if you need a reason). It will be during the week of course.
