How long before a hug lasts too long?

Serious question and work related:

In the context of showing support, appreciation or empathy for someone, when you give someone you know (but not family) a hug, how long can that hug last before it becomes 'too long' and becomes 'uncomfortable' or 'inappropriate'?

In a work envinroment, it is too long when it makes the recipient uncomfortable.

And yes, that will vary from person to person. Best to avoid it unless you know the person well.

I went to the public library and got out a book entitled "How to Hug".

It was only when I got it home, I found that it was actually a volume of an encyclopedia...

depends if they have boobies or not....
if not, a hug should only last a second..

if they have boobies... should last until the cops turn up....

has the position for 'hug -test-dummy' been filled yet?

there is a hole lot of stuff that goes with hugs. if you want to take the time to analyse it.
its not so much a time factor...
its if the other persion seeks to let go earlier than you its best to respect his/her wishes and let go yourself, never mind how much youd like to hold on longer. if ya do its showing respect for where the other person is at.
