There are also signals for group rides

    • Left arm bent, hand towards ground: comfort stop wanted
    • Left arm bent, hand towards sky: fuel stop needed
    • Leg out: hazard on road
    • Hand on helmet: note speed for later reference
    • Arm out, move forwards in a sweeping motion: feel free to pass

Universal sign for cops around is pointing in the air and twirling it around like a siren or flashing your pass light

The first one is totally redundant. Comfort stops are governed by the person with the strongest bladder, you'll know when it's time.

Why not just point to the tank for a fuel stop - pretty universal, though I must confess I did wonder if Morcs wanted me to blow him once.

Could work - except for all the numb nuts sprot bike riders forever stretching their legs.

Yes, because cops have rotating sirens.

If you are following behind can you see clearly someone is pointing at their tank? Even that can get confusing I guess...

No wonder we stop so often!
I've always gestured to shit surfaces with the left arm down, and up is slowing down.

BUT Ixion's info is great. Thanks
Not an option for us with wired on headlamps. So when I wish to advise other motorcyclist of the potential hazards associated with cages braking heavily to avoid infringement notices I use:

Arm stretched up in the air vertically and revolving (like the flashing light on a cop bike)

I vaguely recall that headlight flashing became an offense a couple of years back... maybe I'm mistaken though.

Being new to the mysteries of riding a harley it is such great fun waving to sprot bikes round a corner. The riders just can't believe their eyes, a waving harley with only one hand on the bars. The fear and hesitation is priceless

    Sorry I don't understand.

Yeah, you're right. They changed the law and now you can get charged for using your headlights in a manner that might dazzle other road users. I think this was cos they couldn't prosecute for 'obstruction of justice' as people just claimed they flashed their lights to say "slow down" and not "there's a cop ahead"

There is another sign not discussed here, for those that are familiar with their modern pop culture.

It involves taking both hands off the bars and moving them around your head in opposite directions, like chris brown in one of his shit videos.

    It doesn't actually mean anything..
