He better get a bashplate sorted before he goes anywhere like that! He's trying to convert me away from the DR to a more touring orientated Adv bike! Peer pressure from a work colleague LOL!

Thanks Eddy. You'll have to take her for a spin on the next outing. I'm planing on picking up a cheap 350-400cc dirtbike to take over the rough stuff as well. Something I don't have to worry about dropping..

    well done Benjah. looks great

You may be interested (or not) that Ricor shocks are now about to make a rear Inertia vaalve thingy shock for the weestrom. Apparently will make them nicer to ride when it gets a bit more rugged on the gravel. this is Just what i've read in the last few days...

Congrats and welcome to the 'Strom side...

Nice looking bike, I'm biased of course... What sort of bash plate you considering? I have a BB Offroad which is pretty good, though I'd like an engineer / friend to find a better way to anchor the plate at the front. I have landed pretty hard on a rock doing about 20km/hr with a pillion so it's certainly paid for itself!

I've got just the thing sitting in my shed, and I know it doesn't mind being dropped occasionally.

I just ordered the B&B bash plate. A bit pricey but it certainly looks the business. I guess you never regret buying quality.

Good news re the valve emulator things. Sounds like a cheap way to improve the suspension which would be on my farkle list. Next up though is a givi screen and the madstad screen adjuster thingy.

The bike is really really nice to ride. The engine is light years ahead of the dakar donk. I can now do 60km in 1st gear.

Very nice, good choice and great looking colour. Must pop around for a ride, maybe Tues or Wed?
Sad to see the Dakar go, a great bike as well.

Well Bash plate has been added. Should of taken 45mins to put on. I won't say how long it took me but lets just say ... quite a bit longer than that Next up are some decent mirrors. I found a place in NZ that sells a set of Aprilla Tuono mirrors for $75. They apparently screw straight on and are a big upgrade over the OEM ones.

Me and the bike are heading over to Tora in the Wairapa this weekend. Going to be doing some sound work for a private function. Should be a nice first proper ride.
