Casting your net a bit wide there, aren't you?

Still, all credit for your chutzpah. I don't think anyone's turned up and flirted with Ixion yet.

Yes. Indeed you are. You must understand that we here at KB do not tolerate such bad behaviour. A good spanking is the usual sentence. We'll just have to find a Nelson KBer to carry it out.

Queue forms on the left, STOP JOSTLING.

Getting back into biking. Need a 250.

For me, I love the CBR250RR for a good thrashing, but will set you back a hefty sum, as they stopped making them at 45hp in 1993.

JRandoms suggestion of the Scorpio Yamaha is a good one. They are pretty tame, but for the money, reliability, fuel economy, usability they'd be a great bike. But as you pointed out, not going to win any beauty contests.

The Hyosungs, quite pricey for a bike that comes without the Japanese reliability factor. Could be considered pretty to those who don't know what's under the fairings.

If you can get over the looks thing, I would seriously consider a 250cc motard (dirt bike with road wheels and modified suspension) as the most awesome freedom machine. Cheap to run, reliable, simple, light, agile, you can take it off road, down stairs, single cylinder, air cooled simplicity. With an easy 130km/hr top speed but awesome in traffic. I had a 125 farm bike for couriering for a while and it was so much fun. Used it for motorbike couriering, could just reach 110km/h.

JRandom may be a womanising bastard, but at least he speaks his mind and has nothing to hide. Very entertaining if you don't let him wind you up.

Jill (Keystone19) lives down that way. Be sure and post photos.
She's bloody good rider and damn smart. It may be worth contacting her for advice and assistance.

I have nothing much to say about The Art (and Perils) of Motorbicycle Purchasing For a Noob, as it has been a very long time since I had anything to do with Looners. However (but!) I would just like to say "Wulcum" and also "Good Luck" (although I don't actually believe in such a beast).

Oh - and seeing as everyone else has been remiss in this regard - do have some wulcumblngz. (You'll find it parked over there, on the right. Don't spend it all on lollies).
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....
