    Calm down folks.

What is happening here is NOT to set the new levies.

The government , as well as making us pay more, want to reduce some ACC entitlements. To do that they need a law change. Which is what this is about. Nothing (directly) to do with motorcycles at all.

Setting the levies doesn't require Parliament. It's all done between the Minister and the ACC.

And nothing will happen until 10th November. And probably not for a while after that. Much behind the scenes jockeying.

I think you should change your title from "sweet gentle innocent old man" to "hulk like fire breathing motorcycling ninja". I think the current situation makes it appropriate.

    Ahhh Ixion, you are cowwect.

Parliament went into urgency on Thursday and MPs had expected the legislation, which will cut back on ACC entitlements, to be introduced during the afternoon.

    So they fucking should.

From my understanding (correct me if I am misinformed) with the current laws, some fuckwit can break into a house and get the bash from the owner, then go whining to ACC that he was injured and claim for it.

If the government and ACC want to save money that is the kind of shit they need to stop yesterday.

I wrote to my local MP this morning and received an email from her PA detailing how they are tightening up on some entitlements.

I'm really surprised Labour aren't trying to make hay while the sun shines.

Phil Goff (a rider himself) would make a few points imo if he took national to task over this.

I voted national, but the can get Fk'd if they push this through. Not because of the price rises but the way they have conducted themselves.

I agree with Deano! I've just lost a heap of Respect for National and John Key.
Massive gains in respect to Maori and ACT.
Still fully hate Labour though - They caused this 13 Billion dollar crap

Have just heard this has been canned for tonite.

I want to start a private members bill...that moves that we as OWNERS are REGISTERED. then we can own whatever bikes \ cars we like and only pay once!

Well, how many cars can you drive at the same time? How many bikes can you ride at the same time?? Its crazy. That's my thoughts anyways!

I remember about 15 to 20 years ago filling parlament grounds with motorcycles last time ACC wanted to raise the rego for bikes. I still have the COM badge. Must dust off my old BRONZ membership.

If Labour had a proper leader who could breath fire, they could take the dam govt to task.
