What bikes are in the ACC motocycle account?

I've been trawling the threads and official links, and can't find a definitive answer to the following.

Are all injuries involving m'bikes and quads counted in the M'cycle account?

For example, are the claims and stats for unregisterred trail bikes and farm quads in here or not??

As far as I can determine (but it's bloody vague), they work on the basis that if it happens on a public road (which includes car parks and such) its included, regardless of the status of the bike.

The ACC accident form asks (something like) "Did this hapen on a public road"

Looks some ATV crashes may have a separate category from Nadroj's link

.... but does anyone know for sure??

    Otherwise I'll contact ACC directly.

It appears that the stats are based on doctors/hospital visits. If a off road unregistered rider wanders in with an injury it usually gets put down as motorcycle.

So yes in the main road registered bikes are being pinged for unregistered injuries. This is another clear point of why the charge is unfair.

I will be writing in and including... While ACC doesn't collect separate statistics for injuries on unregistered off road bikes these injuries have been included in the costs that ACC wants road registered bike owners to pay. there is a significantly greater chance of injury off road riding as you can imagine and I estimate at least 50% of the injuries result from this riding. It is unfair and wrong to create a charge based on statistics that are incomplete and inaccurate as they are in this case.

(Why 50%?, why not? Sadly there are no separate stats and to argue this with. Therefore it is patently wrong for ACC to pull these figures out and select a section of motorcyclists to pay.)

    Me too.

ACC have made a head line of the principal that cars should not cross subsidise bikes (the $77 thing).

So my arguement will be "right back at you" - Road registerred m'cycles should not subsidise recreational / sporting.

I'll also be including the farm and atv "unknowns" in my submission.
