    Go on. Quit

Talked to a couple people today about the acc charges.

Itll be the death of motorcycling they say.

Itll kill big bikes they say.

Itll cause bike stores to shut down they say.

Well I say fuck acc....and the government.

Im not going to stop riding because of this. Even if I have to work three jobs to pay for the rego costs, Ill have my bloody bike and the day they try to price me off the road is they day I drive it through the front doors of parliment, straight into the chambers, give them all the big finger and tell them to fuck themsevles.

Look at this forum. This isnt destroying motorcycling. It has done the opposite, it has united a group that is used to fighting among themselves.

A slogan for the campaign, how bout. Lets fucking do this.

Some may quit. Im diggin in for the long haul.

    Motorcycling will never die. NEVERRRR!

P.s this thread isnt meant to be adding to the campaign in any way, its a motivational thread.

i'd like to say that owning a car used to be a luxary that very few could afford....owning a motorbike was another luxury. Having a tv was a luxury. We have it pretty sweet with all we have, 2 cars, 6 tv with dvd players, no motorbike as yet but i am not letting a price hike in rego stop me. To me it's about enjoying my life and if it costs....so be it. It is only money. Plus it's cheaper than me owning another horse!!!!!!

It will be my honour to go and spend $500 or so on to reg my new bike (when i buy it).....that $500 will give me freedom, fun, friends and a huge thrill!!!!!

Cos americans figure that the company has gone under so sales will all of a sudden stop. Now is the best time to buy a new buell. They come with a ten year parts guarantee. Thats ten years to put 700000 km on the thing.

Rather than being a motivational thread I think it's a very poorly thought out one.

You are virtually sending out the message that you don't care that the levy is going up as much as it is. If other motorcyclists start thinking like that they'll have made the politicans job that much easier.

Unfortunately it will mean the death of motorcycling as a weekend hobby, for those of you that own more than one bike and use a car as well. Those are the people who are going to find it a real stretch financially. For those of us that don't own a car and ride for our commute everyday and for fun on weekends it wont be so much of a slap in the face.

Fight for the best point mate but prepare for the worst. Ill fight the levy increases but it all reality they will go up, just not to the extent we are frightened off. What I've heard today is people saying even an increase in rego to 500 hundy is too much. For scooters it definately is, for a litre bike....not really.

As for thought out....meh, there are worse posts like mine. Specially this one about I read bout the mods needing to be stabbed with a pitchfork. Dude who wrote it, blew a gasket or something.

It's 2009, cretin. Cars, bikes, TV's and the like were luxuries when I was ten years old and the world as still mildly sane.

Today such items are not luxuries.

But you just go right ahead and pay. No doubt at the next affront you'll do the same thing.

But that's okay. In this world there has to be the meek and mild, and those who aren't.

I'm happy with you being a part of the meek and the mild because you provide me with a cause celebre to be otherwise.

Let's face it. Chicken shit is chicken shit, regardless of the smeller's nose.
Theres fighting a win-able battle and then fighting an un-winable battle. Fighting for no regos increases is futile. Fighting for a smaller increase in rego prices as well as a greater rider and driver education push is win-able.

Im not kidding myself, come next year, money is going out of pocket. As much as we all rar rar rar about not paying, they will just push through laws to increase no rego fines (maybe - can someone clarify the rules behind fines). But fighting so that next year the amount going out of pocket doesnt make me cry is worth it.

I think we should be fighting for a far fairer system.

Those who don't claim anything from ACC shouldn't be paying for those that repeatedly do.

More than a couple of years ago, that was the '93 protest ride. We stopped them then , we'll stop them now. Or at least have a bloody good go at it.

Me, I have a car for a toy. The bikes are my transport, there's no question quitting, I can't be having with walking to work at my time of life.

Who do you think you're kidding Mr Smith , if you think the old Biker's done ?
