You mean like private accident insurance?

Me, I have a car for a toy. The bikes are my transport, there's no question quitting, I can't be having with walking to work at my time of life.

Who do you think you're kidding Mr Smith , if you think the old Biker's done ?
Darn straight, I dont have a car. I have a bike to get from a to b, be it a to b touring, a to b canyon carving or a to b running the errands. Cant forget us young bikers. Im sure as hell not getting off bikes now that I've discovered the joy of riding.

The fight for fairer systems in this country should have been started many years ago,i in no way agree with the extent of the rego rises but find it amusing that everyones jumping up and down about $500 when we have been donating through the neverending welfare system for years, far more than rego rises.Governments in this country long ago worked out that they can pretty much do whatever they want.In this case its my belief they come out with an inflated version and will then trim it somewhat so the masses feel a little appeased.

Such a joy that you get rides into uni by car rather than riding half the time??

Some people would rather be able to use there money for other things in life such as getting overseas. Getting three crappy jobs just to support riding a motorcycle would not have enough value for me, or many other people, I wouldn't call it "quitting" though, if it came down to that...

I'll just put my bikes rego on hold or on farm, and try and avoid the coppers where possible

I imagine the bike will get less and less use as time continues. The RUC on the work wagon will go up and up......so either way in their mind they still win. But does ACC get money from RUC?

Yeah, I can't help but think that they were probably aiming for 550-600 in the first place; just mention a higher figure and come back to where they feel the public will bend over. Whatever the figure they won't get a full 12 months out of me/us.
