    BIKEOI Flyers

With the t-shirt orders booming, and the dates looking like they will be confirmed shortly (hopefully!), i figure it is time to work on a flyer.

Im thinking use Retro Asian's ACC footer bit, with a whit background, mayber a bulseye watermark type thing, and a heap of Information. Personally I'd like to see a few stats on it, specially the ones that dispute the statistics national has been publishing. Adding a poll so you can choose your favourites...

The first stat i'd like to see at the top of this flyer is the breakdown between off road/farm accidents and regestered motorcycles in the total numbers that acc are using here !!!
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Don't get bogged down in stats.

If the flyer is targeted at bikers, they already know the stats are bullshit.

If targeted at the general piublic , masses of figures will confuse them .

Just list the claim, say WRONG , and make a counter claim

    eg

ACC claim 2008 income of $12million to pay claims of $62 million. WRONG. That should read $18 million to pay claims of $23 million

Our figures may be "wrong" , because ACC don't release the data to accurately calculate them. But, that's OK, lets have them having to say our numbers are wrong - then they'll have to show how theirs are calculated. We can show WHY we say their figures are wrong if someone is interested. Or just refer them to Charles Lamb

    or

ACC claim bikes are 16 times as dangerous as cars WRONG the correct figure is 3 times.

yeh, that was the sort of thing i was thinking of doing, I figure bikers know the score, but educating the general public is a good idea. Will put a draft together along those lines this arvo.

Number of licensed motorcycles and mopeds * the levy appropriate for each = approx $18M. Not our fault if they're shit poor at collecting

The 63M covers not only 2008 claims , but also all costs relating to previous years that a re still active (not everyone recovers in one year). They can't expect to pay 10 years of claims with one years revenue. The 23M is my calc of the CURRENT years claims. Probably overstated since the older claims will be the expensive ones.

I was under the impression that for each accident, they seek to put away enough money for the life of that claim (where all the acc investment money comes from i spose), so the previous claims are payed from saved up money, not current levies. Ive probly got it wrong somewhere Also could you provide some links to the data that gives you those figures, so i can add it to the wiki. TIA

Please use Danae's tank logo in there also. It is too good a logo not to use... Cheers.

Yip I need a poster just like this, just keep in mind the quality of printers when designing.
PDF format will be sweet to pass around (flood the country) with out clocking up inboxes etc.

Good work, the more posters of varying design will be an advantage also.

    I disagree!
It is all about having a RECOGNISED brand, just 1. You don't see McD's with half a dozen different logos, do you!

Just a thought, so it is not over exposed and over looked, but hey I’m not in advertising I stand corrected.

Ok, second revision, would appreciate if someone could go over it for any mistakes. I'm relying heavily on ixions 18mil levied for 23mil pay so hope he's right!

Attached is a low quality draft copy, will put a good quality one up, and pdf up once its finalised.

Hey there - Awesome work! Do we have a final poster with the dates, times etc included? I've had a look around and can only find ones without dates, times etc. Could you email a copy to me wgtnridersaccprotest@gmail.com

    Thanks, Ms Piggy
