How much is a full page ad in The Herald?

Probably the cheapest mass media to advertises in.

A full page BRONZ statement on behalf of motorcyclists stating the disputed figures in simple terms (use the big numbers for impact) would get attention.

State the reasons why it is unjust and ask "Who's next?"

We could be cheeky and put one in AA Directions as well

At work, we pay about $6k for between a quarter and a half page ad, but thats with the Dominion, and I know the Herald is more expensive as I'd reasearched it about 4 months ago.

Seems a good idea on the surface...BUT...
Journalists get stuff wrong, all the time, and editors decide whether a 'story' runs, or not, or gets paraphrased all over the place. Becoming useless.
Ads are expensive, but the only way to print exactly what you want.
The collective 'we' don't have the sort of money reqd.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Advertising to the masses in such a way I believe to be a silly idea.

Put in all in print like that and the smart types that read the herald will figure out that:
If bikes dont get hit with high acc levies, then the cage drivers are going to be paying more acc (albeit not that much more)

    Cool

I guess what I am trying to say is that we need to try and educate at least some non bikers.
Obviously we don't have the budget or resources that the gubbermint/ACC has

Of course we do. It's just that 'they' have taken it off us to look after it. Saves us from wasting it, see?

the thing they need to know is that there is no need for any hike...

The combined car & bike payout claims for 2008 was only $270,828,000.00
    $270,828,000.00 / 2,681,461 = $101 per vehicle

cars already pay $169, and bikes are $253 the current combined fleet is 2.9 million not counting trucks and buses etc...

and then remind them that cars with lower safety levels are next

You have to triple the $101 to allow for their reserve building. That's their real problem, they are so hung up on this 'fully funded' thing, funding all the OLD claims as well as the new ones.

The average 9all vehicles) required for the funding exercise is about $200. I suspect that figure is rigged (20% inflation, 1% ROI) but that's their number.

That's why extending the deadline from 2014 to 2019 makes a big difference.

EDIT: but we don't have to publicise that for them . Joe Q Public, that deep and incisive thinker, understand your original arithmetic.
