I guess he's talking about this:

"Engine weight was also eliminated by switching to magnesium generator and chain covers. A lightweight catalytic converter system (KLEEN) is housed in the muffler on California models. The system consists of the catalytic converter, the Kawasaki Clean Air system (KCA) that injects fresh air into the exhaust ports, and a pre-catalyst in the exhaust pipes. The system has a fuel cut-off solenoid valve to shut off the gas flow when the engine hits the rev limiter or the ignition is shut off while riding to prevent raw fuel from contaminating the catalyst."

...but is it really a good idea to mess around with such late model technology?

Not bad thanks Brett...but *cough* *cough* not good enuf to come to the rally this weekend sorry.

It's truly wonderful to be back on two wheels again and especially a bike as powerful and well designed as the Super Blackbird! Probably see you on the road soon enough man!

found it! the top link is a lot better the one below is people arguing about if its worth doing it or not...

The KLEEN system shit was on my model, chassis number ......KKA000151

Only thing it did (AND APPRECIATED), was remove the constant backfires & popping my aka slipon make the bike do!

Pretty piss easy to pull off really!

I heard a ZX10 with a Muzzy can with no other mods that backfired like hell. Then they stuck the powercommander on, and absolute bliss..

is removing the KLEEN system worth that hassle? Plus what (if any) would the long term crap be? And do all 03/04 bikes have it too? There was a comment about earlier bikes having them. I'm fairly sure they'd all have them, but thought I'd just bring it up..

    Hmmm...

maybe KLEEN aint the right name, I remove part of the breather system to dump air back into the engine after the exhaust valves, never bothered with a power commander and I'm thinking of a MOTEC ecu down the line so I can do lots of silly things to my bike

from what I've heard (and gonna play with), the PC (PowerCommander) seems to be the way to go. I know there's other makes, which probably do the same thing, but I can get me grubby mits on a PC kit for a fair price. I just gots to be savin. Comes with a Muzzy slip on too. Been told it was one of the better systems and set ups for the bike, then a K&N airfilter, and that should all release a few more ponies for not too much dosh..

Have you got a list of mods you've done, aside from the ones posted earlier? What engine mods aside from the Kawa RR trim is there etc?

Are you gonig to try making it up to the Waikato Rally? There's gonna be one or two more 636s there. Rumor has it, we have velvet rugs and naked chicks to sit on them and watch over them. Quaz said we might be able to sleep with them after too..
