    Wellington Ride to Waikato Rally

I dont know if anyone has thought about this yet, But this is what I am proposing.
Ride up on the Saturday Morning
Meet Caltex Upper Hutt - time ??
Ride over to Masterton, out to Alfredton, Pahiatua
    Pahiatua track
    Ashurst
    Wanganui - Parapara's - National Park - Rally

    Stop somewhere for lunch
Anyone keen on this idea or have another route that keeps us off SH 1

We're going to Manfeild on 23rd then up to Pukekohe late 23rd for the racing there on the 24th, so not going to the rally. Safe riding everyone.

    Doug

We may be starters, depending on the start time. Mrs H has to work on Friday night, so too early a start will probably not be a goer.

I suspect we'll probably be taking a more direct route, possibly including the Vinegar Hill road...

Hitcher we are not in a hurry to get up there so approx 8.30 meet at Caltex?
Have an enjoyable ride & plan to get there mid afternoon.
Stop somewhere along the way for lunch.

Doug, "8.30" falls into our "too early" category. We'll see you up there!

Parapara have heaps of roadworks at the moment - like every couple of kms. It was very frustrating on my last ride down there so I avoided them on the way back. I'll check them out again on my next trip and give an update, but if they are still like that then I would suggest avoiding them.

If you guys need a support vehicle I will leave it up to you to organise. If someone has a trailer and is prepared to tow in the event of, it might be a good idea, can anyone volunteer for this ??

Vinegar Hill is in much better state than the paraparas .. having done both in the last week ... twice !! .... if you are coming through that way you should all stop at Manfield for lunch (hot chips & hot dog !!)

Thanks for the updates on the condition of the Parapara's, will now probably go up Vinegar Hill or carry on up road & come out at Mangaweka, late lunch in Taihape ( Hitcher could meet you here ). Would like to detour for a ride to Top of the Bruce weather permitting & then carry on to National Park.
Will still leave Upper Hutt at approx 8.30am.

Quasi we are on Kawasaki's and as such will not need a back up vehicle, Viv wants to know if there is going to be a designated ZX6 / ZX636 park.

If anyone else from Wellington wants to ride with us please pm me so we know who to wait for ( skunk I know you are going )
