Is this good or bad for ACC?

Treasury has released the financial statements of the Government for the three months ending September 30.

The books reveal core Crown tax revenue was just over a billion dollars lower than forecast, sitting at close to $12 billion.

Higher than forecast investment returns by the New Zealand Super Fund and ACC offset the tax result, meaning the operating balance deficit was slightly better than forecast at $200 million.

Other key indicators were largely on target.

Good news for them, they made more money than expected. reserves go up.

Good news for us too (and thus bad for ACC) , since it undermines the "ACC is broke we have to raise levies" argument.

ACC ain't broke, and now it's even less broke than it never was.

Irrelevant - they will alter figures to suit their agenda.

Statistics are crap as we are finding out.

Only stat we need worry about is 'how many registered bikes there are"

As at June 30 this year, figure is 134,973 INCLUDING registered ATV's (whos levy pays into the Motorcycle account)

I rang NZTA this morning...very enlightening
Current numbers for this quater being sent to me under the OIA, will spread the news once it arrives

134,973 x 280 (estimated levy, have no exact figure beyond the rumor that the rego fee is less than 100$ and rest ACC)

    $37,792,440.00

Where the hell they get 12 mil from? Merely new rrego's maybe?
Maybe thats the sum from new bikes registered in last 12 months or some shit?

I dunno....getting fuzzy with bloody numbers now

Is that registred or licensed. some of those regos might be on hold (not that matters, we'll use the number that works best for us)

And remember that a chunk of that 130,000 is mopeds who pay way less than 'us'
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Registered Les, but I am told that figure is CURRENT registrations so safe to assume non on hold in there (big assumption tho)

And I base 280 on an average of what I have been told the rego/levy differential is, NZTA girl couldnt tell me, she didnt know BUT is sending me a scale of the levy's as well as the current numbers becaus I used the magic words...

Anyone know what a Mopeds fee is???70$ init?
So, say take 5 mil off the total to be fair to Nick we still paid a lot more than he claims, as Les 8 year old told us about the cars
(good plug Les, told my workmates 'thats my friend' as I played it on the PC speakers here at office)

That assumes all bikes and mopeds are registered for the full year. small will be of 3 months other 6, this one is very hard to figure so we have to use the 12 million add in the 6 to 9 million from Fuel

also the acc levy for bikes is $252.69

If that number is form the url below, then it is registered , but including 'on hold'

The next bit down gives figures excluding 'on hold' (exempt, they call it) . Caomes to 96952. 100000 in round numbers.

Actual at any time will be somewhere between the two, as people put bikes on hold and take them off.
