Her parent's and/or sponsors know this also.
They must have tremendous faith in her which in and of itself is a pretty amazing feat at the age of 16.
Well, best of luck to her. Who dares wins n all.

Some motorcyclists do not even make it out of their own town before they fall off.....

For any kid with balls I would throw in a buck or two, help her out with encouraging comments not negative one's....At least she will be able to remember her adventure and probably make money from it in time to come..

Well apparently riding a motorcycle is pretty stupid, so that's a start I guess.

Thank you Stranger. What a sad-arsed bunch of commentators. All they ever focus on is failure. Maybe they do so to make themselves feel better.

Personally, I think this kid is fabulous. She's out there doing what the sad-arses can't even dream of doing.

    'Is she great?!

    'Nar. She hit a tanker.'

Jesus H Christ! I can just about imagine this lot saying, as Jesse rounds Cape Horn, 'Yeah but remember, she hit a tanker.'

Thanks, again Stranger. I really was about to toss my toys at the replies. But you calmed me. :--))

    And then there's this

    I recommend you to http://www.jessicawatson.com.au/

The 'authorities' tried to stop her. 'Too young. Too inexperienced. Female. Not competent'. But Jesse beat them all back. And now this wee slip of a girl is currently about 1,000 miles from everywhere, on a very small yacht, heading toward the mandatory equator crossing before plunging down into the Southern Ocean and Cape Horn.

She said, 'Screw you. I can do this.' And she is.

Can we emulate her and say to the authorities, 'Screw you. I'm sick of being raped.'?
Here's a girl. Not a woman. A girl. Teens, unless they're really tough, tend to group and wait for a leader. Not this girl. Here's a tract from her blog....

"A few people have been commenting on how it must be nice to have other yachts around every once and a while but I can't say I really feel like that. Sure it was nice to chat to them over the radio, to find out where they'd come from and where they are heading to, but I can only really be comfortable when Ella's Pink Lady and I have the ocean completely to ourselves."

Can you imagine what it is like to be in the middle of nowhere, on your own, with the immense responsibility of surviving everything the ocean may throw at you? I guess that unless you've been out there, even on some flash cruise ship you have no idea as to what the ocean can throw. I've been out there in all manner of boat and conditions go from idylic to maelstrom in almost a blink.

Wouldn't you feel a bit more comfortable knowing their was other boats around, just in case everything went to hell in a hand basket?

Not Jesse. Jesus but she's one awesome kid.
