    Rides passing through Taupo.

Any groups passing through Taupo on Tuesday morning? If so, what time?

There should be a group from Taupo looking to tag on behind.

Main group from Whangarei/Auckland/Tron stops at Taupo for fuel and pies , departs Souf at 14:00

EDIT: forget I spoke, that'd be MONDAY 14:00 of course.

I was planning to go down the western access to Turangi. If I go to Taupo,I would get there between 07:00 and 08:00.
What time do you plan to leave?

Should be able to get to Taupo in 4 hrs on SH 1?

I guess we'll just head straight for the stadium.

It is 350ks with some slow areas in the last 100kms. I would leave at 7.00am to allow for stops and holdups. Otherwise plan to pick up a few demerit points.
    Here for the ride.

I'm still unsure whether I will go down on Monday or Tuesday. If Tuesday, then I will be going through Taupo at around 7:00. Any later, I think, would be too late.
Weather forecast isn't looking too hot, either, so need to take that into acount.

    Will notify if this changes

    Makes sense.

Where's the meeting place? One of the carparks along the lake front??

7.00am will still leave times fairly tight. 4.5hrs (11.30) steady roll minimal stops to Police college. Then 1/2 - 3/4hr as group into town. You will be merging with a lot of other riders from around Otaki and this will slow normal pace.

The ride will be departing Sanson (2.5 hours south of Taupo... unless you are really flying!) at 0900 to make the Police College on time....

I'm guessing that the first will be leaving at 0900 and by the time the last of the 1000 or so bikes leave it will be closet to 0930. So you may still make it quite comfortably in the end.

Back to plan A for me now - going down on Monday, coming back Tuesday.
So anyone on a blue F650GS in Taupo on Tuesday morning won't be me.
