I don't own a large 4x4 but I don't think people who do deserve to be ridiculed for having chosen the type of vehicle they desire... After all we chose motorcycles. I think that most guys with big bikes capable of close to 300kmph raely use this capability either and the same could be said about them???

True - But the motorcycles aren't chewing up non renewable resources and spitting out pollution at the same rate. Nor are they likely to drift across your side of the road because the mum driving it's vague-ass steering home from school is texting.

Well, there may not be so big a gap between some sports bikes and some 4WDs. And by no means all 4WDs are driven by Mums, or incompetantly.

However, there is grounds for suspecting that some (not all) 4WD drivers are not entirely competant at driving this class of vehicle. After all, it is a bit silly that someone can pass their restricted cage test in a Toyota Echo, then jump straight into a Ford Explorer.

Which brings it all round again to the idea of a graduated licence for cages.

To qualify then, I have no probs with big 4wd's if they serve a purpose, tow a boat, go bush, whatever. 4 tons of mum's taxi that doesn't leave 'Remmers' is wrong. There are better, safer vehicles without the waste.

I still think everyone should have the right to buy and drive whatever they want Even a large sportsbike that gets 2000k's from a rear tyre
    Or Ashton Kutchers International truck

I wonder what would be appropriate listening for a 4WD?

20 yrs ago I had an ex Army RL Bedford, the 4 wheel drive job.I tied the original tray to a tree and drove away, then fitted a flat deck. This was my runabout around town,I'd go and pick up some parts from Davie Mts in Otahuhu, double park outside, check out Shafts while I was there, pick up my lunch,go visit my mother...a very handy vehicle to have...at 4 mpg.

I'm short OK,you got a problem with that?

He's 5'4" on a good day - he won Bathurst 3 times, the Castrol 6 hour 3 times (mainly class - but a few outrights as well) and the Yamaha 250 World/Gold Cup and rides bigger than anyone i know. I've also seen him smoke sportsbikes on that sporty.

    No probleeeem at all mate.
