TRANSPRO – Where is our money?

“no fancy words or fancy website, just pure from the heart – if ever one knows what it feels like”

www.transpro.co.nz quoted "we do it right the first time".......wow! really?

Fellow bikers, its now a month of a virtual battle with Transpro. There is just no response from the guy and i wonder if he's still alive or maybe strucked down with dementia. He's got our money and he's suddenly disappeared without a care in the world. This has never happened to us from anyone or any other business.

    So i'm venting out here.......

20th Oct – Won bike on trademe
20th Oct * Paid for the bike to owner
    * Arranged shipping, got a quote from Transpro for Palmerston North - Auckland. Address of pickup given, company name and phone numbers.
    * Transpro promised to pickup 21st Oct at 9am on the dot and delivered to us on 22nd Oct.
*Paid Transpro and sent confirmation email with payment proof but a little hiccup happened, we put New Plymouth instead of Palmerston North on the email (a little mistake but we’ve already exchanged information verbally over the phone taken down by Shahils wife hence quoting us with the Palmerston North quote which we accepted for them to take on the job. Plus we paid very fast.

21st Oct * No phone calls from them so we presumed everything was going smoothly.
22nd Oct *No bike, no phone calls...ok maybe the bike is nearby so we called Transpro back.
*They blamed us for not giving them the right suburb (but we did over the phone). Why hadn’t Transpro given us a call before and let us know – NO COMMUNICATIONS!
*Transpros excuse – they sent the driver all the way down to New Plymouth and couldn’t find the shop (You think they could have double checked the address before sending someone all the way down there? plus they had the initial quote) Something was definitely fishy with Shahils story.
*Shahil promised to pickup bike and deliver 27th Oct

23rd Oct – 27th Oct – No communications, no follow ups and still NO BIKE. We tried calling transpro on every available numbers many times, 4 emails from us already but still no replies. There’s always some excuse whenever we try and get hold of him i’m so sick to my stomach someone can actually sleep and do this.

27th Oct – My husband is climbing the walls now ... I got sick of Transpro and their lies and excuses (such a horrid experience) and we contacted Biketranz instead and voila’ they picked up bike today, awesome communications and amazingly delivered our beloved bike on the 29th Oct. Thank god Transpro didn’t get their dirty hands on our bike or it would have been a jeepers creepers nightmare.

28th Oct – Today – Shahil Chand from Transpro still promised he will pick up bike, didn’t want to refund us our money and we instigated a refund, at least half our money. The whole deal was totally unprofessional let alone based and built on dishonesty and excuses. He suggested we take this to mediation, i’m gobsmacked.
*5 emails sent to Transpro, over 30 phone calls made. All emails and phone conversation records in hand.

I am seeking further advice from authorities and have few options on how we can tackle this issue. Its getting to the point where we have no other choice than to pass this on to the right guns to deal with as its not worth the stress. How Shahil and his Transpro manage to run his business ethically is beyond me.

If he had owned up to this, communicate and resolve this minor problem, it wouldn’t have escalated to this magnitude.

Transpro, Shahil Chand & Nazia Hanif, do the right thing and give us our money back.

Any other suggestions or insight would be great but otherwise, please beware of dealing with Transpro .

    Sincerely worned out

Roadride, Shahil does monitor these forums under the name "transpro", try to PM him and maybe he'll post to the forums like he did in my case.
Best of luck, take a look at the consumer guarantess act http://www.consumeraffairs.govt.nz/consumerinfo/cga/ you've paid for a service but it was not rendered.

I was willing to let the first instance slip as a one off incident, seemed like bad luck and bad communication, a second incident in as many days... I think you deserve all the badmouthing you get coming your way.

Given the amount of 'Whats the best transport company to use' threads that jump up on this forum, perhaps it would be prudent to make a sticky on who the worst is.

Staffing issues? I wonder. I'm in the industry and their reputation is far from spotless.

I sold my ill buddies Buell on his behalf, it went to Nelson from Martinborough.

BIKETRANZ did the job for the buyer.

Awesome rig they had (a BIG Italian Mega Van thing)
And were BANG ontime, driver rang on Cell when he realized his GPS had 'Ferry Road' mistaken with 'Lake Ferry road' (happens a lot) and I swear, the Bike got there faster than I could have on my own riding it and taking the boat

New owner was stoked, still keeps in touch, and that gorgeous XB9 was unmarked and treated like the driver owned it himself

Helps you not here Roadride, but if I can back up the fact that BIKETRANZ deliver, and ONTIME with good comms, maybe we can save the next seller/buyer the pain you suffered

    Peace
    Just ride.

Mate believe it or not I have the exact same experience as you. 3 weeks ago bought a bike off a Kber from Welly and since then have been having endless problem with Transpro. First of all they have not picked up the bike from seller on the date promised, TWICE, without notifying the seller; then gives some lame excuse when asked (the van broke down??) Hullo?!! Where is the "New Zealand's absolute best service and - we get it right the first time"????!!

Also no one seems to ever pick up the phone at their end. The good thing came out of it is that at the end we went to Bikertranz and they did the delivery perfectly. Glad the tards at Transpro did not get their filthy hands on my bike.

So far the seller is trying to chase the money back for me as he did most of the dealings with them. The money was supposed to be back by the end of last week but still no news so far.

What can I say about Transpro: First class website (notice the nice graphics and designs) + top notch bullshit + Third world service. Frankly I can't believe such a company can exist in New Zealand. This is as close to a scammer as it gets. Appalling...

Let this be a warning for the rest of you...

Ring up Fair Go... there is obviously more than one person who's had trouble with them.

For some reason real public shaming seems to do the job better than the disputes tribunal - the fact that he's said for you to take him to the disputes tribunal probably means he's been through the process before and doesn't care too much for it.

I take it you've already tried calling them on this number

Yep! Slack kiwi businesses hate it when people talk/complain about them in public.

Apparently we are meant to just put up with shit unprofessional service. It's the NZ way.

get someone else to ship the thing if you still can*. Pursue your remedy in the Disputes Tribunal. Blacken their name anyway and anywhere you can.

There is so much bad press on these guys. Luckily you've only lost money at the moment. Personally I wonder if you're better off visiting in person, with many friends. If you join the Bikeoi you'd be able to collar a few friends to ride around and pay them a visit.

Good luck getting your money back.

Haha, try ordering some large part from the US and see how you feel. We paid for an engine two weeks ago, and it hasnt even been picked up yet.
