Is this thing going to a Select Committee? If so, we need to pack that thing out Every Day it is sitting. And make our presence and voices heard there.

Yep . All of the above . And anything else that keeps the issue in the public eye and makes it clear that we have not just gone home and gotten over it.

No select committee on the levies though there is one on the other ACC changes.

Thanks Ixion. I will try and keep an eye on the Parliament debates etc. I'd be happy to hang out in the public gallary in full (well, as full as they will let me in the room in) gear and make yawning noises etc... until I get turfed out anyway. Might pop down to see PD at some point too.... take the bike and get him to come out and have a look at how purdy it is

In another thread it was said that parliametary security estimated the crowd at 8500. So at $1-$2 each thats gotta be $10K easy.

Westpac Trust took it, from what I have heard its going to be handed to Westpac lambton Quay for counting and depositing to the Ambo's

I have it on good authority the two Westpac Staff that held the buckets have longer arms today, and the weight hit a point that 'big ugly mofo's' had to assist to carry them to the office

Thanks to the hairy ugly mofo's who did that good work!!!!
    Just ride.

Agreed, but i think you've got that backwards. Let's not sit and wait for them to come up with solutions, they've been proven to suck at them! If they're losing money, where figures suggest that they're making profit from it (quoted somewhere 3.2 billion required, 4.8 levied) where's that 1.6 BILLION dollars gone???

Only way i can see to resolve this issue is to remove the ACC board as it stands, sack them, same as i would be sacked for not doing my job. They are not spending our tax dollar wisely and as they are our servants and not the other way around, they need to be sacked for poor performance, no golden handshakes, just sacked and potentially investigated for 1.6 billion dollars worth of fraud?

What i'd like to see is the report of ACC recommendations, the base data that supports the figures in the report and the list of criteria that was used to include or exclude the other ACC claims...

We live in a different day and age, yet people still hold the same values as they always have, we need to work smarter and that usually involves tearing down what exists (because it's been setup by idiots) and rebuilding it for the future, only properly. The current ACC board seem to be unwilling to do some work, to provide a service to their people that they are being paid for... and on and on...

Remove the ACC board. Create a "trusted" team business analysts and find out exactly how ACC should be doing business.

Protesting isn't going to fix how badly ACC is run. Stop the rot now!

    just my 0.02
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

I would like to thank every one involved. I have never been involved with any type of protest before, but it made me feel proud to be a biker. I have never be on any group riding event at all before, yet it was so easy to slip into the group and ride side by side on this ride. As for the weather you could not have asked for better, so a big thanks from Vern.

Like I said we should be organising the next one as well as more local protests, keep the presure up... including one done in cars showing hey we also drive cars and those levies needed to be counted towards bikers as well, and this is what 6000 cars will do to the towns congestion if bikes are simply taxed off the road

Well done to ALL who worked towards this event. I had a great time and never seen such a sight with the bikes and with such a good postive vibe coming from all bikers... even the likes of the gang members were good. Shows you we all have a common interest irrespective background we all can stand together.

Well done to us the bikers as a whole!

Just spoke to Phil from The Bike Clinic.

Marty rescued two riders with electrical probs. First one bad battery connection, had him on the road within 10 mins. 2nd was a failed battery. was able to supply replacement so he was able to get home.

Marty was gobsmacked as to the turnout. He still fizzin this morning. He has a 20 min video of everyone leavin from the Police college. Got tired at that point from holding the camera.
Do we know of any other breakdowns?

I have also passed on a thanks to Kapiti Police for the effort they did and to Fulton Hogan. All commented on the behaviour of almost all who were ridin.
They were also proud to have been involved.

I heard Minister Myth saying he probably would not have the levies so high, of course that should make us happy. Well it wont.
For sure! Hanne and I are organising the first of our cafe crawls for women riders as the Herald and Radio NZ are clamouring for more info.

As a side note, while speaking with a colleague at work today he actually thought the "$500" figure being spoken about in the media was the TOTAL registration cost bikies were having to pay. He was flabbergasted when I explained the reality, and the misrepresentation going on the the public.

So despite having a lot of public support there are still many many people out there who actually are NOT aware of the full situation, and only hearing the propaganda being spouted by those in power.

Still loads of work to be done.

I was very proud to be a part of the protest yesterday, and share in the whole experience. For that one day at least bikers of ALL persuasions gave each other the nod, a few words of encouragement to each other - we, for probably the first time ever, were all one. Let's keep this united front going because the pollies and bean counters will pounce on the first sense of disunity to divide and conquer.

Keep up the fantastic work and pressure everyone!
