These sort of protests do have their place, particularly if they are short and sharp, and don't involve private property. They are sort of the stick, of the carrot and stick.

I think we need more of these, and we have to give Mom full credit for getting stuck in.

How about the same idea, with politically driven target selection.

While the thread itself has been allowed to degenerate into a red/blue argument, Nick Smith is having a meeting to discuss climate change as detailed here - http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...d.php?t=112791

Bikers have a legitimate interest in this, being the low footprint fellas we are, and Nix would have to explain why he is picking on the best form of transport.. not giving it fair go, in spite of its great carbon footprint.

But, the best bit would be, if all the attendees had to walk past parked motorcycles, as the parking was already full.

And if they all got some info about the protest to take in with them...
David must play fair with the other kids, even the idiots.

OK so what happens if someone does gets pissed and accidentally nudges a bike?

How is everyone going to react?

    How will the press react?

We'll get medieval on their ass of course.

Bit of raping, looting and pillaging and then some stomping of a new mother and her kids (plus a kitten if one is handy)

Our point is valid, our cause is just and our protest is legal.

    That is enough.

    Back up the train.

Just around from Mission Bay is 305B Kepa Road Kohimarama. And not far off is 3/6 Polygon Road St Heliers.

    And what's there?

Well, at the first, the electorate office of Allan Peachy National MP . At the second, Murray McKinnon his electorate agent.

    Legitimate targets

When we've filled every available space except that car park (assuming this turns out to be massive ) then we can start doubling up.

We'd have to sign that car-park as no bikes please with a 'target' logo so everyone knew we were deliberately being noble...
Not specifically aimed at PhantasmNZ - bit to all people saying "lets do this, lets do that"

As someone said earlier in this thread - there are too many cooks.

The details are in the first post.

People have the choice of attending or not.

If people dont like it - and dont think that they can live with MOM's idea of a protest - dont come (go plan and arrange your own protest).

MOM has put a lot of effort into getting this off the road and Im sure it is going to be a great success - Please get behind MOM and this protest as she has arranged it.

I'll be on my sons little Vtr 250 with L plates mate! But it still takes up a carpark!! Gotta be in to win!!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Seriously though - absolutely - I agree - support Mom as much as we can - that doesn't mean there's no room for discussion though ... but it really is Mom's call at the end of the day.

Whatever the decisions, whatever the weather, I'll be there!! (and my bike'll get another chance to wear it's flags!)

(for the record though... I won't be at any of the shopping malls)

You are exactly who we want to attend. This protest was primarily designed so that scooters and learners and anyone else could ride to attend. This affects you as much as it affects any one on two wheels. Frankly it affects everybody, should they but realise it.

Sorry, no backing up of this train. It is happening as I have planned. First post spells it out fairly clearly. Park up, make some noise, have a feed and bugger off. My plans end there.

Without putting too fine a point on this. Read the first post. That is now set in stone.
