Two weekends in a row for us, I have been to four events/a night BRONZ meeting in Auckland/another night in Auckland making up vests etc for the Wellington event. It seems like every week we have been involved with the whole ACC thing in one form or another. Its been a pleasure so far, and no doubt we will continue. We will give it a rest for a week or two now, next weekend we are going to the beach. The question was asked a few times today ''so whens the next protest''? we did point out a couple of things that are on next weekend but we wont be around. On DEC' 5th there is something in the making and we will attend that. Theres alot of work that goes into organising a event, and we do get alot of support and are very greatfull of that. Its not that we are over it, just need to step away a bit for a week or two.

Dont give up John and Tart.

Trouble is, Jim, I feel very tired...I have put HUUUUGE amounts of time and energy in to this....pushing shit up hill against the naysayers, and those who actively discourage any thing...not that they put forward any counter ideas, just opposition.
I'm sorely tempted to say" Fuck you lot and the horse you rode in on" and leave it all alone.
Right now tho, I m off to have a wine..I reckon I've earned it!

Tart, I am tired too. I am going to have a weekend off next weekend. Ruakaka is a place we go to to relax. No phone, no TV, no radio, no internet. A couple of days of seclusion and taking your shoes off and walking bare foot on the beach is good for the soul.

I am not finished by a long chalk. I can feel my next speech building as I type

I came to the realisation at the BIKEOI last week that you can only do what you can do. The organisers were brilliant. They put it out there and had to let it go once it was underway. Such is the depth of feeling and the respect a big chunk of this "community" has for each other it went without a hitch.

I got royally pissed off when someone put a link to better quality videos in MY thread.

What a dick I is, but when you're knackered and working hard you lose perspective.

Take a day off and let things happen by themselves. It will be OK, I promise.

    Yeah

It's a real important point for organisers to realise that no one person can do everything. You'll just burn out an die. This is too big for any one person. Even bits of it are too big.

Y' got to pick some good people , load 'em up, and fire them off. ANd trsut that it will all work out.

It's what management is about. Pick good people, give them the message, give them space and let them do their thing.

Take a break folks, and when y' get back , look around for some people to delegate to . You in your small corner, I in mine

(There was a man once did that, picked twelve good Bastards. Look where that ended up)

Wouldn't work for us. The cross would just end up looking like a wooden cardy.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

''Take a break folks, and when y' get back , look around for some people to delegate to''

This is a very good point made.
We have had some awesome people just offer up (and sometimes not, they just go ahead and do) thier services. Without them, everything would be that much harded. Even just listening to thier opinions and option helps.

Having a small but committed group of 4-5-6 people around you, and being fully supportive of the task at hand, takes the weight.
