    Dave,

I'm not asking for BRONZ to front up with a wad of cash from the ether, I am asking for ideas and someone with a bit more speaking power in the industry to front it.

    Cynicism? Nope. Just realistic.
If someone is passionate, and goes about it in just the right way, perhaps a lot of money can be raised. The problem is, of all those that went to Welly, a very small percentage will do things like the Park-up Protest and those that do, will do it over and over. Can't keep asking them for donations. And the vast majority will be nowhere to be found, except if another big event is staged.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

The Industry fights their fight with a professional lobbyist and lawyers. The MIA submission was excellent - that's where their dues go.

I've asked the MTA for comment - 'Your edtor is a friend of mine, I'll get back to you.' No further correspondence at this stage. I assume he's talked to the boss.

I agree with the last part, that goes without saying.
While everything in post one is obtainable, I still question the viability of it all?

Would you yourself see a Television add a viable option if it were to be shown just the once?

Even if each person on Tuesday handed over $1, the amount would only get 1 prime time slot.

Like I said earlier, good thought but to get something like this off the ground is a job to the extreme. I still need convincing.

    Who is the target audience?

I think there would be a danger of preaching (expensively) to the converted.

If we had the money it wuld be better spent on targeted advertising rather than a TV scatter gun approach.

The obvious way to get on TV without paying is Ambush Marketing. Find events with TV coverage and get in front of the camera.

Streakers with Anti-ACC Levy bodypaint designs at rugby games.
    Hijack the "March for democracy"

Anywhere that the media is, make sure that we are there as well.

I think the target audience is everyone, i.e. the general voting public.

Our best line is "Who's Next" this can resonate with the public if we put it in perspective, motorcyclists are a minority just like everyone else, everyone fits into a minority group of some sort and the governments way of control is to divide and conquer, we say it doesn't effect me because I'm not part of that group but when you are next, who are you going to look to for support?

I think if we can put the point across that we are the underdog or little guy taking an unfair beating you will find the New Zealand public loves to get behind that sort of thing.

I don't see the news media getting this point across so maybe its time we took the reins.

But we have the services of a professional advertising executive who has already offered her time to the cause.

I can gather all the costing metrics and write up a solid business case to present to the parties in the industry i.e. bike shops and vendors for funding but all of that will matter very little if I don’t have any support.

My voice alone isn't loud enough and I don’t own the badge of an organisation to make people take me seriously.
