    ACC Premium Caluclator

Guys Keith Mclea and I were having a few bourbons (the thinking drinkers drink) and smoking some pot this afternoon. We got a great idea and got John Judge and my mate Nick Smith around... and by about the seventh bourbon and 4th joint this is what we came up with.

The only problem is that we are now so stoned and pissed we can't work out how to turn it into a PDF.

Maybe someone here can help because we would like to email it out to some cronies and see what happens (basically throw it against the wall and see if anything sticks).

    It's what we usually do.

My risk multiplier is 1.05. But here's my question - where was the risk for smoking pot and drinking alcohol? :-)

EDIT: base multiplier 0.5 + car license holder 0.09 + motorcycle license holder 0.27 + cycling (off road) 0.03 + light air craft 0.16

P.S. aircraft is one word. :-)
The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one, he said.

No, because for Keith and I and the boys smoking pot and drinking are 'normal daily activities ' and besides they are not accidents ...we do it deliberately.

And James Deuce will also be relieved by this one, we also say sorry also left out the risk multiplier for operating a ride on lawn mower to trim a hedge while suspended from a crane, as we realised this should also be categorised as a normal daily activity for most people who live in the Waikato region.

    Many thanks.

I have now placed the ACC Premium Calculator here.

Please feel free to email this URL and PDF out to all of your non motorcycling friends.

The intention of this spoof is not to suggest that all high risk groups should pay higher groups but to continue illustrating that if Morotcyclists have to pay a risk based premium it is unfair for other groups to just continue paying a levy or nothing at all.

The really scary thing is that a number of us really think it is possible that a calculator of this type culd become reality if the Government is able to establish this precedent with us.

I'll be curious to hear what premiums people end up with. I used the ACC 2008 claims figures fro rugby, cycling, etc as a very rough guide to guestimate the mulitpliers.

Well in that case I can't see why the rest of us should be bloody subsidising you.

How the hell did you achieve that did you select one of your hobies as a land mine tester?

    You've missed out:
'Riding in midst of 9,500 angry bikers'
    and
'Standing in crowd of angry bikers yelling bullshit' under recreational activities

Add those please so I can do a true risk multiplier
    Just ride.

The calculator has also been published by the Dept of Satire, on this cycling forum http://www.vorb.org.nz/acc-premium-c...s-t102242.html

...hmm strangely it has not been well received by all of my cycling brethren?
