    So where's the riot?

John Key on Breakfast this morning:

"bikers ... up and down the street rioting"

    Anyone got video of it?

JK on breakfast this morning with Paul Henry. The gist of his statement was that if you think bikers (I thought he said riding) rioting up and down the country over acc was bad. Imagine what would happen if they followed all the recommendations in the Brash report.

I was only on my first coffee at the time and JK was on the ph so was a little hard to hear.

That's OK. Good in fact. Works FOR us.

What is best of all for us is if the public have a perception that we are real angry , and likely to really create mayhem and chaos. But no-one actually has any experience of said mayhem or chaos or riot.

That way we get the benefit of the scare tactic, with alienating anyone.

Could any of us have sent a clearer message of how angry we are, than the PM has just done?

Hadn't thought of it that way, guess you're right.

As an aside to that, a well spoken, quite elderly chap at Medlab this morning told me we should be proud of our 'reserved and controlled' approach to parliament - his words, not mine. Pays to wear a protest shirt, I guess

What we need is the link to the broadcast. Did he say 'riding' or 'rioting'? There is a world of difference. And if it was 'rioting', all who heard will know that he just spouted another lie. Which we will be honour-bound to point out...for those that didn't hear it.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I reckon we're taking this out of context. Perhaps he WAS taking the piss out of bikers, but he was saying that the level of resistance he's feeling at the moment from us would pale into insignificance should he actually implement some of the reports findings, i.e. everyone would feel the pinch and take to the streets... I could have heard wrongly though!

Looking at the latest poll results - there are many of us out there.

While I agree that the proposed changes are criminal - NZ is still in a far better position than it would have been if there wasnt the change in g'ment.

So - argue - debate - protest (hell even I did - the first one in my life - and Im hoping to see Nick Smith this evening also).

But - looking at the bigger picture - National are doing more good than harm for the country as a whole.
