Location is important because if it goes up in central Auckland that's news....If it goes up in waiuku it ain't news.

Size ain't important because no matter what size you make it the photo in the paper or on TV will be the same image size.
Easy guv, you missed my point. I was simply trying to point out that if you're going to all that trouble and expense, then, as well as getting it in to the papers and TV, get the billboard to do what billboards do as well as possible.

These can work very well in high traffic areas.

Hm. Given that our funds will ALWAYS be VERY limited, and that our campaign is a long term one, I think a billboard might make more sense than either newspaper or radio advertising. TV is think is beyond us

Perhaps we caould back up a big static billboard with portable ones, (maybe towed by a bike , laid flat and set up at startegic locations . ) We could even be naughty and set up where we should not, and buzz off smartish when challenged.

I'm not so sure about the Tui idea, I have a sense that we need to be starting to put across constructive messages , of the "This is Better, and here's why" , not just hammering the "We hate ACC and Nick Smith " message

Les we could put up some painted sheet banners and the like in the middle of the night. need to be careful of safety issues if we do this on overpasses but by picking novel loacations we could get free press coverage of these.

Les if you want to explore the billboard option call me.

I did that once, when one of my older brothers turned fifty.

My nephew and I painted up a couple of old sheets saying "XYZ- FIFTY TODAY" and hung it on the pedestrian bridge just south of the Northcote Interchange.

EVERY commuter who went under that bridge on his birthday saw it, tens of thousands.

A billboard placed there would certainly catch some eyes but you'd have to kiss it goodbye after one morning's use probably. I'd say it'd be worth it for the coverage though.

Nothing to stop you running off posters and pasting them up on the dedicated poster walls around the cities.

And remember NZ post can send Nick Smith a small parcel full of dog shit for only $3.50 - that's good value

I would have thought with all of those middle age bikers earning 80k we would have been rolling in it

Also for $3.50, you can send a small parcel of Nick Smith to some dog shit.

But it might come back return to sender.....

    Nice idea.

    How about
