Do you still Wave at Passing Bikes?

One of the greatest things I have found in the last 11 months of riding is the waving and nodding, its brillant.
I try and wave when i can, I notice that most riders in Auckland will give a nod, not many wave.
If someone does not give a nod or a wave they are the exception not the rule.

Problem is its harder to tell if you nod..... well thats my opinioun I preferr to wave..

I wave to all bikes except if I'm in mid-corner and it's unsafe, in which case I nod.

It's a nice feeling when people wave back - there's a real camaraderie amongst us.

I normally wave or nod if my hands are too busy and usually get a response. Kids in kages get a kick out of a wave from someone on a bike - they don't realise its a grey haired old bugger not some koool dude

When I see a tinted visor helmet nodding, it seems to look more noticable. I was down on Oteha Vally Rd Off Ramp yesterday and a guy on a TL1000 came past (he had clear visor) I waved and I could see a nod and a smile. I am not gay, but it was pretty cool.

I wave to all bikes except scooters and dudes dressed in black on harleys or similars, coz they're always way too cool to wave back.... Yeah right!!!

Reading these posts, I'm just wondering if it's the Orclanders that are experiencing the lack of responses. I find at least 70-80% of Wellington riders wave back. (Thats Excluding the Harley riders coz they can't see you through the sunlight streaming out of their )

I am sure more people would wave at me if I glued little Panda ears to me helmet like the (presumptive) young lady in another posting. I must try it and see.

I wave to all bikers when I can.. Sometimes you just cant because your taking a sharp corner or dont see them till its too late or whatever, but 99% of the time I will wave.

I've had HD riders wave at me *shock horror* and I've had plenty of sports bike riders NOT wave at me. I think people just get a bit hung up on stereotypes. As for me when I'm rich and get myself a HD or a brit bike, I'll still wave to all you fellas on ricers :-)

Oh and for the record I dont wave to scooters. I think part of that is because no-one ever waved to me when I used to ride my TR-50 :-P
