My sincerest condolences to Flyin's family and friends. It is never nice to hear events like this. It is very sad and makes me think twice about riding my bike.

To all the other kb'ers out there. Ride safe.

Maybe we should have a phone list with the Admins for events like this?

    Unhappy

How terrible!! Please pass on my sympathy to the loved ones of Sam.

He made some really good contributions to KB's. I never met him but any loss is tragic for those left behind.

    Ah shit.....

I feel like an utter .....

He rode back with me last ride (Jim2's running in one) and we were goin' for it and it was all I could do to keep him from getting past me and possibly, he was just too polite.. (hey we were not doing anything horribly illegal or cutting anyone up, I don't do that)

Anyway we had a real laugh about it at the bottom of the hill while I was gassing up... He said it was fun following someone more experienced 'cos it was a good way to learn the lines as he had only been riding 3 months or summat... I kinda suggested that in that had I known that, I would have ridden a damn sight slower and taken some proper lines instead of my usual panic... I was of half a mind to suggest he slowed down but he was just sooo enjoying it and to be honest, we were not really going that fast I didn't say anything...

I was a little nagged about it and we exchanged a few PM's...

Seemed like a really NICE guy and looked like he could handle that bike real well... Seems stupid but I wish I had not enjoyed my self so much and maybe warned him off... Dunno... Would it have made a difference????

    Shit shit shit...

Damn... When someone finds the funeral / contact details will they PM me. I have a bastard of a week ahead of shit I just cannot put off and I'm sick as a bloody dog but at the VERY least I'll send something.. Shit.....

    Unbelieveable....

This is the worst news to hear, brought a tear to my eye. So sorry to hear that a fellow KBer has died. My thoughts and prayers are for the family and friends of Flyin/Sam, that they would be comforted during this tragedy.

    Sincerely,

    Matthew

I was thinking the same thing. It was lucky I knew someone that knew Sam to get hold of his parents.

But there should be a select few who have a list of Nick names, real names, locations, reg #'s, and parents/wives/husbands/kids phone numbers in case the worst should happen. That way we could just call one of those select few and be able to inform the families.

It really is a shit day hearing about this. Dont know who, if anyone, is to blame, but I hope everyone else rides safe, and stays alert.

    OMG.

Sat slack-jawed through this whole thread. My thoughts go out to all involved, family and friends. Very sad to realise one of us has gone, RIP Sam/Flyin you no doubt will be sorely missed. This just plain sucks, I hate this shit. I never knew him, spoke indirectly through this forum so I feel, well just terrible. Too young...

I second (well third...) that phone list idea, should it ever be implemented.

Paul. I can understand your thoughts, but I don't think you saying anything would have changed the course of life. This is a terribly sad, unfortunate accident. Like Zed, I feel really upset by all this. You don't realise how much of a community this really is.

First as far as I know too.

Certainly hurts a lot more. You always know that there was a possibility of a KB going on the big ride, but it doesn't remove the feeling of shock now that it's actually happened.

Can someone who know's his family (at the appropriate time) let them know about this thread. Maybe print it out for them, and let them know that there is an entire community devistated by this event. If there is anything they need, let us know.

    Jezus christ the poor guy

From the talks I had with him, he was a straight up and very honest guy, I cant beleave we lost someone - we need to be able to pay our respect to him.

Maybe a ride in honour of him, or ask his parents if we could organise a convoy out of respect.

This brings a tear to my eye, I really cant beleave this

Maybe make the first Sunday of every May a memorial ride to the accident site and pay respects.

Oh Hell. I'm really sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers are with those who grieve for him.

I didn't know him personally but the loss of a member of the biker community touches all of us.

Even thought I never met him, I always think that maybe I've waved to a biker who waved to someone who waved to a biker who knew him.So all bikers are linked and we are all affected when one of us is lost

    RIP Sam, Flyin.
