seriously, the SR250 should handle gravel fine (for a road bike). Go find some gravel roads and practice. I can never understand the sports bike riders that freak out at a gravel road.

Sorry you dropped it (it does happen sometimes on gravel/mud/clay). Glad you're not hurt.

Yeah was a bummer.. bit of a shoulder plant... I was like 'oh fuck' but the bike was just as it was before the bin... indestructable

Jeez I have done it again as with john.. talk about the bike before the rider

Sutage became a brand new rider in one night of training

and i was pleased to see the quick progress from being a shaky round the corners type to being a nice smooth cornering and hillstarting demon

well done man and tomorrows ride will give you twice as much confidence as compared to tonight!

bummer dude, but its good that you and your bike are ok. Im personaly shit scared of gravel as i havent been riding for all that long and i realy dont know what i can do on the gravel before it bites me in the arse.

As for the gloves, my m8s dad use to ride when he lived in croatia (which i mite say is in medateranium with much warmer climate) and he tells me that he didnt wear gloves that much but now his fingers tend to hurt quiet bad at times. He recons its because of the wind when on the bike with no hand protection, and i herd that wind can be a factor in developing Osteoarthritis Arthritis. But as far as im aware there is not much scientific evidence of this. But Im not a doctor so what do i know

The reason you need gloves are that people instinctively put their hands out in front of them to prevent them falling. So without gloves you'll be in big trouble.

So, go practise. 250's are (usually) excellent for gravel , especially the singles. And if you think riding on seal is fun, then riding on gravel is more fun than a cartload of drunken monkeys with their tails burned off singing dirty limericks whilst wearing jodhpurs. And I can't think of anything funnier than that.

Don't lean the bike to the extent you would on the road.
Favor the back brake over the front.
Keep your speed up.

One glove! Boy I laughed. Then I remembered when I got my gloves from motomail...

Go in, looking for the HJC on special. Get it, cool. Ooh, cheap winter gloves, well, I'll need a pair. Get some dririder ones.

On the way home I'm having fun trying the right one on in the car, wow I say to everyone, why do they have so many labels on both gloves??

Get home, and try both on. First right, then lefffff huh????? wtf is this...

SHIT! they had given me two right gloves (all pre-packaged and everything).....

Funny thing is, is that this keeps happening to me, I even checked the helmet to make sure it was the right one

So you busy driving around in full biker gear or have you got a bike yet???

I was thinking of posting a pic of me in full gear standing on the driveway. I have everything. Helmet, jacket gloves etc, license etc bike locks etc.

Until this morning. That all changed. My "loved" bike arrived this morning. Its John's old ZZR (do the math - No offence John
