What is with all these bins lately. People, start using your noggin and be careful
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

As for the name change, I'm just parted with my Nikon F4s body today. The rest of my equipment is up for sale too. Can't be paparazzi without a camera right?
Good to know there's a method to your madness! I was just having you on. Keep the name, it suits you.

And all the best with your off-road adventures too!

In a sense, these bins where the newbie rider and bike walk away pretty much unscathed (like this one and the one on yesterday's Ak ride), are a good wake up call that will cause the rider to remember to use his noggin and be more careful in future!

Btw, accidents are inevitable in motorcycling, that's why many in here continually emphasize the necessity of investing in good gears. It's encouraging to see most peeps on KB rides wearing *full* protection!

With all respect, and no offence intended, but got to disagree here. Crashs are not inevitable. And can at least be very rare . There are plenty of people on this site that have ridden for 20 years and more without crashing. - Granted here I'm meaning crash as a "proper' crash , not bike falling off stand, forgotting to put foot down when stopping , losing it on the grass at 5kph etc. Or off road/track.

I do think that statements like "accidents are inevitable' are unwise . New riders see them and get the wrong idea ("oh well , everybody crashs so it's no big deal if I do also" ). As will any non-motorcylists who pick up on the sentiment. We have enough problems with parents, partners, bosses etc who think motorcycling is horribly dangerous without reinforcing thestereotype (Yes it is dangerous, but the danger can be mitigated and controlled)

Crashing is always bad. It is the ultimate uncool, and it is not inevitable. Ride safe, slow down! Remember everyone - black squishy bits down, pink squishy bits up. Always.

Im with Ixion here, the only accidents I have had are due to idiots on the road (and 1 where the mud guard fell off) none by my choosing

This does work in gravel or offroad. A big handfull of throttle will often get you out of a shit situation. Or, at least, change the shit situation to a new shit situation. And if you do still drop it, the extra handfull doesn't seem to amke much difference.

BUT DON"T DO IT ON THE SEAL, okay. Or , any rate, not unless you know exactly what you are doing)

Done. I'll direct any complaints about it not working to you.

Thanks for that clarification Ixion, I probably wasn't specific in my first post that I was refering to loose stuff with that comment.
We're all fucked. I'm fucked. You're fucked. The whole department is fucked. It's the biggest cock-up ever. We're all completely fucked.

Sorry. Not being smart, I know you know the distinction. Just a bit concerned that a new rider might interpret as being a universal remedy. I'm getting a bit paranoid about the new(er) chums crashing lately.
