Where can I get a Honda CBR600 serviced?

    (in Auckland CBD)

My 2008 CBR600 has just passed 13,000km so I think it's time for a service. The last one was at 6000km.

I used to get my bike serviced at New Lynn honda but they are gone now. I'm living in the city and working full time so does anyone know somewhere close to the city where I can get it serviced and so I don't have to take any time off work to get it done?

Motorcycle Doctors, really good prices, great work and wicked customer service.

Ohh yeah, he comes to you too.

Would they service a honda? Neither Red baron or mt eden are Honda stockists.

Give them a ring, I am sure they would. They both sell used Hondas.
They may not do the computer diagnostics; depending on what you want you may not need it.

They(Mt. Eden) service any bike as long as you have ring and book them. Or you can call Motorcycle doctor and he will come to you. Cheers

Being that his bike is an 2008, it may be still under warranty so he will probably want it to be serviced at an authorised Honda dealer. (They try and scare you into believing that you must get the servicing done at an authorised dealer to keep the warranty valid)

Which is a crock of shit really. He could take it to any mechanic he wants and just keep a record and receipts of the service.

Well if this service calls for a new air filter - then you better make sure that the dealer you choose has one in stock.

Apparently they are on backorder at the moment..!!!

If its a NZ bike it'll probably be under warranty (2yr, unlimited ks). Warranty needs authorised Honda servicing and the local mech (Puke Honda) says they have to enter the service details online to Blue wing now so they can keep track. I'm not sure how much truth there is in that but it wouldn't surprise me.

The closest to you is Botany Honda or Cyclespot, both offer loaner bikes I think.

The 12k service is an total bike inspection and only the oil and oil filter needs to to be changed. You'll get your bike back the same day. The air filter most likely won't need changing at 12k.

It wouldn't surprise me either. Blue wing Honda seem to be the worst at this scam. It even had some of its customers believing that they should only use the Honda brand of oil too if they wanted to keep their warranty valid. Total bullshit.

I myself will take my bike to any mechanic I please or do the simple services myself.

Toby was the mechanic there and is now working from home... out in Waitakere! Why get it done in town?

There is a clause in the back of the owners warranty and service policy manual that states "in order to take advantage of the Honda limited warranty offered by Blue Wing Honda and to ensure that your motorcycle is only serviced by mechanics who are familiar with your motorcycle you must have the maintenance performed according to the schedule at an authorised Blue Wing Honda Dealer"
So I guess if the bike is still under warranty and you want it to remain that way then you will need to take it to Cyclespot or Botany.
