Oof, only just caught up with this, crikey sounds like you had a bit more than tarmac surfing! Glad to hear you got yourself into the clinics to get yourself checked up and sorted out. Hope you sort out the dicky arm thing and able to get back to doing what you love doing best.

Actually, ironically about the only thing I'd be comfortable doing right now is riding. When I have my leathers on, my left arm is tucked underneath in a 'sling' position. All other times in my day to day life I have my left hand in my pocket. Now everything's tipped upside down, my arm is now constantly in a sling, I'm not used to it, it seems to be more painful (phantom pains are a bastard to isolate), I'm really not that comfortable with it. However, if I was on my bike...

Don't mean to be impolite when I say this but if you're on any pain medications be careful you don't overdo it.

Wow! Only just found out about this. I hope you're doing ok and you can get your thumb and arm sorted out. It's amazing how much damage you can do to yourself in a 50kph crash. It's not the speed, it's the sudden stop, in your case a pole.

Fantastic job on the fairing 3umph. I didn't know you were that clever

Used to be on 35 pills a day after my accident in '97, everything from morphine, codeine, tegrotol, voltaren, paracetamol. The pain would still be there, and on top of that the med's would knock me around a lot. After talking with my doc's 2 yrs later I decided to do away with all the medication, instead just dealing with it. Not an easy road to take, constantly in pain no less than 4/10, average around 7-8 out of 10, spike at 10+/10 literally hundreds of times a day, but, I'm not dozing off in the middle of the day, I'm not hallucinating, I'm not suffering any of the ill-effects of morphine, plain and simple I can function. So, despite the pain being worse currently, I'm staying on the same course.

New around here, don't know who people are and didn't want to make an ass out of myself by making an assumption. Cheers.

Ah it's all good. No dramas here, for me it's just my life. It's been 12yrs now, my girlfriend and I were talking about old memories the other night and I realised I can't remember using both arms now, it just seems so alien to me. I enjoy life the way it is now, it's a great education.

Yeah can understand where you are coming from, many people live with constant pain... myself being one of those...
i hate taking pain medicine but if it to bad that I have to it still does not really work that well only thing it helps with at time is to sleep for a short time... It's also amazing how your pain tollerance increases when you live with constant pain as well
