I'm not sure how you were 'snapped', but you are entitled to make sure that all the equipment used was properly calibrated and up to spec.

    /End my rant - phew

i doubt whether you'd get the camera stuff - it's not relavent to your ticket. it's available on line anyway if you're bored.
the other stuff (operating manuals etc) make for 'interesting' reading, that's about all - if you were pinged by a HP unit, you can guarantee that they have all the appropriate qualifications, and that their speedo/radar etc are up to date. it's worth a crack though - costs nothing, and it's always worth while seeing what is written on the back of the police copy.

think about it - if i asked you for advice (without a lecture) then slagged you off, what would you say?

hey, don't get me wrong marty, and spud, but me, my wife, and kid, pay good money in taxes to feel secure in the belief that i am safe in my home, on the roads, and in my wellbeing...and cops took an oath (as i did to serve in the navy) to fulfill that promise...now this whole thing about understaffing is bullocks, i see a truckload of cops on our roads revenue gathering and not investigating incidents such as rape, and i would be livid if i knew cops were sitting on sh1 with a radar and my 18yr old daughter's rapist was still at large and no-one was assigned to it...and then, they are viewing porn as well? hey, i'm a bloke, i love porn as much as the next guy, and girl as the case may be, but they have an image and job to uphold...and its hard, no probs from me (i was accepted into the police two years ago before a rugby injury forced me out) but some consistency sure would be appreciated...we have heard in this thread some guys doing greater speeds and being let off...where's the f__ken consistency there?

i said it in my very first post (under newbie intros), "if i offend anyone, i apologise, but i will never apologise for what i have said", isnt that what forums (within reason) are an avenue for, free speech?

sit tight guys, tissues are being couriered to dry those eyes.

probably not a good time to tell that i got let off a 116k this morning......by someone who i had never met before.
and for the record, i made no attempt to talk my way out of the ticket at the time, took it with a grain of salt and went on my merry way...its typical of a kiwi or pom to whinge their way out of it on the spot, i wrote a letter as is the recommended avenue.

    so there..."anyone got a handbag?"

Of course. They're people being told what to do, not at all their fault. It's their bosses that are the problem. Not once have I had a tail-gater behing me pulled over by a cop for dangerous driving. They're all being forced to focus and speeding as thats where the money is

And the only real reason for me hating them when it comes to tickets anyway is how they treated me when I sent them that letter. Come on, they got two simple facts wrong

And K14, shut up, and bad rep someone who cares, wanker

Well if you didn't care then why did you say that?

The reason i gave the bad rep is exactly for the reason why it is there, because i dissaproved of your post. Don't go around slagging the cops off just cause they stuffed up a letter you wrote which was completly unnecessary. Grow up mate.

    Ta Marty,

That is exactly what I found out - I would not expect a well rescouced outfit like the HP crew to put a foot wrong often.

I know I felt better for finding that info out though...

I don't take issue with traffic policing per se, but I do find aspects of policy/application disturbing on occasion...

I personally have a *huge* bee (more an angry tropical wasp really) in my bonnet regarding w*nkers who don't indicate , and would be oh-so-merry if a few of them were ticketed and dished out the odd demerit...

I have no say in the matter sadly...

    Cheers.

I really want to make a witty retort to this, but I'm only 15 and I need to be a bit older to have the privileged of doing such a thing

OK, I'm gonna take back what I said as I am obviously wrong, after all, I'm only a youth and have no place in this society until I am 25, and the actual cops on the street aren't the bad guys, only everyone who has voted for a right wing government that privatises everything and is so money grasping, they'll send a whole police task force to gather money or a 'left wing' government that looks good on the surface, but then is caught raping you in your sleep
Oh yeah, I also got my mummy to check my post, being to young to understand in all, just to make sure it wasn't offensive, hopefully I don't catch one of ya fucking her

Oh yeah, if you bad rep me, I"LL GIVE YA GOOD REP!!!! Since you are all so desperate to get some of this rep shit, I'll soon be down to a red box in the short space of 3 days!!! Of course, you will have just made a total arse of yourself, much like I have after making this very post!

This post will be deleted tomorrow, don't worry
