How come those Beemers on Trademe have such high K's?

Any one know why the Beemers on trademe have such high K's?
There are lots of f650's on there with well over 100.000km on it!!!
Never seem to see any other brands with that high kilometers.
Are beemers stronger???
Not that I want beemer tho..

At the risk of getting some on line abuse...

Beemers tend to last a long time and get ridden a lot

I do 30 to 40,000km a year and tend to wear out the other brands :-)

Uh, so what? All the better, saves the running hassles. 100000 is nothing to a BMW. And BMW riders tend to ride them. A lot. A lot further than the latte shop. It's what they do.

What they all said. Some of these bikes are quite possibly ex-rentals but besides that the bikes and some of their owners are capable of big mileage. I have bought several BMW airheads with over 200,000km's on them and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

Just to make you feel better i'm putting mine up there shortly and it only has 32,000km on it. R1200GS Adventure...

The reason is that those that own the beamers don't mind fixing em up.
Lots of bikes on TM are over 100,000km - but not that the owners know that. I had a GB400 that apparently only had 18,000 on it......engine felt tired so I opened up to find a piston that looked like nearly 200,000km.
Likewise trail bikes with disconnected speedo's. I had a K100 (Kwaka) with over 100,000 (must been a postie or someone) but speedo only read 39,000.

there is a very good chance ill get beat up over this, but i quite fancy the new GS 800fs
